Why did asymmetrical control layout become so popular? What are the benefits over symmetrical?

It became popular because it is better for modern 3D games and more ergonomic, but the symmetrical layout is generally better for 2D games. I own both types of gamepads, but definetly prefere asymmetrical for most games, but my 8bitdo pro 3 gamepad is still one of my favorites even though it has a s

Controller Recommendations for RP5

I’ve just got the 8bitdo pro 3 and it’s great, the buttons are magnetic and interchangeable so you can change ABXY configurations depending on what you’re playing/ emulating, and you can change the left and right triggers to buttons too. Feels great and sort of like a hybrid PlayStation/ NES style

I'm thinking of buying a dualsense to play on linux, would you recomens it?

No, DualSense are known to start drifting which (to me) is unacceptable at this price point. I would suggest an 8bitdo with hall sensor or TMR joysticks (e.g. the Pro2 or the Pro3). They also work perfectly on Linux, both wired and via Bluetooth.Only downside is that they do not come with Playstatio

Budget Hall effect controller (DualShock/DualSense style)

Since they want a symmetric layout, it would have to be the 8bitdo Pro2 or Pro3, not the Ultimate

Need help finding a controller to play on PC

8bitdos controllers from the past bunch of years have really solid drivers, are very pretty, and have a variety in whatever orientation you like Look at the 8bitdo Pro3 for example, PlayStation controller style layout Every 8bitdo controller after the wired ultimate 2C from like 4 years ago has work

Looking for a controller to buy for pc gaming

I've been enjoying the 8bitdo Pro3. I prefer symmetrical layout controllers, so your mileage may vary.

Can someone please suggest me a good PS style of controller for pc?

Yeah, I avoid using the Xbox layout too. 8Bitdo Pro3 is the best symmetrical one for PC currently, imo. The Gulikit TT Pro and TT Max are supposedly releasing "soon", but they've been saying that for about a year now.

Switch 2 Pro Controller Discomfort?

I’m not using game chat or amiibo at the moment, but it’s a shame not being able to have those functions if I need it down the line. I’m considering an 8bitDo Pro 3 since I like the PlayStation layout, but for some reason it’s a got a weird ”shake to wake” function for the Switch 2 where you gotta p
