Controller recommendations for a total newbie?

I mostly use the 8bitdo m30 controller. Good latency, sega layout, and works well for a lot of arcade games. Less ideal for ps1 and snes. If you're looking for a number of options it is a great versatile addition.

Best way to play NES, SNES and Genesis games (without collecting them all again)

Look at the everdrives, you basically want the most expensive ones for the consoles you're looking for to get. controllers? between the 8bitdo m30 and the ps4 or ps5 controller, those are going to be the best bluetooth controllers, and really the best controllers outside of OEM. Connecting your cons

Why didn't 6 face buttons become the standard?

I've been using my 8bitdo M30 for 2D indie titles lately and have been loving having to extra face buttons personally. Works great for non-fighters even if it was designed for fighters originally

Anyone tried 8BitDo Ultimate 2C controller? How good is it for fighting games, specifically the dpad?

Can confirm. The D-Pad on 8bitdo's mainline controllers (both the older dpads, and the newer 'clicky' dpads) are complete and utter trash for fighting games - almost completely unusable due to false diagonals. Anyone saying otherwise here just watched YouTubers who themselves did not test them prope

About Controller Choice for "Guilty Gear Strive"

8bitdo M30 PS5 if you must choose between the two, it's what a surprising amount of high level players use and honestly I have always disliked the dish dpad on the current xbox controller.

Fight stick for non-fighting games on PS5

I have a Haute42 CA-S and a 8bitdo M30 that I use to get around problems that I have with my thumb. They’re both great. Stock d-pads require a pretty significant amount of force to press, and often more so when hitting diagonals. The M30 is the most accurate and gentle d-pad I’ve ever used, and I’ve

How is the Genesis 6 Button Controller for Street Fighter? Thoughts?

as someone who owns an 8bitdo m30, if you use fightcade then it's not the best for later titles like SF2X and Third strike, but if you want to play SF2 CE\hyper fighting than it's great

Looking to buy a new controller specifically for fighting games, like Avatar Fighters. Any recommendations? I want to get into using the D-pad more.

8bitdo m30, it does very well especially for how cheap it is compare to other controller. The pad get some getting used to especially for 623 and 63214. For avatar, the only motion I have issue with as katara is the ice slide into high jump while doing a combo. Should be fine after a few days. I'd s
