been interested in coffee for three years, found this old pourover from my mom which is perfectly suited for the filters I use. Don't have a good grinder yet.
In that case x ultra is a great choice. If you want something that fits in the plunger of an aeropress, 1zpresso Q is also a great grinder and will produce a similar cup quality. However the dial on X-ultra is substantially easier to use and has more fine-grained adjustments, but the magnetic catch

How many microns could you taste?
My 1zpresso X-Ultra has 12.5 microns per click and one click changes the shot time for a set output by approximately 3 seconds. I know that stepless adjustment is seen as a plus by many people but I don’t agree. 10 microns per step is fine enough and it will make dialing in easier.

Please help a total noob choose a good manual coffee grinder
Manual hand grinders are great for most uses and often better value for your money than electric grinders BUT they can be a chore for espresso. Hand grinding for espresso quickly became a nuisance for me. For all other brew methods they’re great! If you’ll be doing espresso often I’d recommend going

Profile cup Xultra vs Kultra?
They’ll be quite similar. K has 48mm heptagonal burrs X has 40mm heptagonal burrs They’re so similar that any superiority between the two might be down to the coffee you’re grinding. You might prefer one coffee with the X, and the K might bring out a quality in a different coffee that you really lik

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread
They're all good, so there's no wrong choice. If paying less is important, you can get the cheapest. C2 is older, produces a little more fines than the newer ones, like C3 or C5 Pro. C5 Pro is new and has been getting great reviews. The ones that say ESP are good for espresso too, but you don't need

How good is the InstaCuppa Electric Burr Coffee Grinder? Also, is this bottomless portafilter worth it for a Delonghi Dedica Duo EC890?
The K6 is far better than the k2 as it has an external adjustment system. It will be very easy to dial in shots with an external adjustment system. If you are will to spend 20k on a grinder than you have a couple of really good options. If you solely want to do espresso then the 1zpresso J-Ultra is

Really Confused between grinders😵💫 timemore c2 ,c3, s ,esp ????
If you don't make espresso, the esp is eliminated, I have had the c3pro and I liked it, it is comfortable to grind and it is not big. Now I have a 1Zpresso x ultra but the price goes up a lot in comparison. The c3pro will be good for French and mocha. C2 is an older model, especially for espresso an

Free Talk Friday!
Short answer: better coffee. Alternate answer: caffeine tablets. If this is really about self-medication and you just don't enjoy the drinks, which is fine, there's nothing wrong with just taking it like paracetamol. And now back to lovely coffee... u/Phimstone makes a fine suggestion to try espress

using delonghi EC685 along with agaro supreme grinder, I have changed the portafilter and am using a bottomless unpressurised one. The grinder is not providing me enough control over my grind settings.Any suggestion for hand/ electric grinder, I want to keep it as low cost as possible for now.
You're in luck! Fix Coffee (not affiliated) has open preorders for Timemore C5 Pro Esp. I haven't used it, but Timemore is a reputed name in grinders. My rec would be the 1ZPresso X-Ultra (very fine control--8 micron or so), but that will add another 5k to the cost. Electric the cheapest option wort
