Best soundbar without subwoofer
Yamaha SR-B30A. Just got one for $299 CAD ($215 USD) on sale. Dolby atmos, built in adjustable subs, 4 sound modes and clear voice/bass extension settings. Love it already. Great bang for your buck
Advice Needed to Replace My Old Yamaha YSP-2200
Darn... I'd suggest going with another Yamaha unit, but I don't think there's an newer version of the 2200. There's the 2700 but that's discontinued. I bought the SR-B30A for my bedroom recently. Nice little unit and ideal for small rooms with limited space, but not as a primary system.
New to soundbars
If you're short on space or have a smaller budget, a soundbar without a sub is a perfectly valid choice. A good all- in-one bar will still be a great improvement over TV speakers. I used one for a long time and enjoyed it. However, a subwoofer is generally recommended by people because it'll give yo...

Of those options, the Samsung S60D, Amazon Fire Plus, Denon DHT-210, and Yamaha SR-B30A all have Dolby Atmos. However, putting it in a media cabinet severely limits the immersion that even a standalone bar can give you.
Wired sub output jack?
Unless you want to go bookshelf speaker route, another Yamaha is probably the best budget option. The SR-B30A and SR-B20A both have RCA sub out. A step up would be the Senheiser Ambeo Plus, but I heard this model could have overheating issue. Premium option would be the KEF XIO.
Under 500 for overwhelmed dad
If you’re not planning on adding rears anytime, then I’ll suggest the Yamaha SR-B30A It’s a bit under-budget but it’s got inbuilt dual (sub)woofers Dolby Atmos soundstage is pretty remarkable for a standalone budget soundbar
Why aren't people talking about the Yamaha SR-B30A/SR-B40A soundbars more? They both seem to be great value soundbars.
Honestly, the Yamaha SR-B30A is a hidden gem! Even more so than the SR-B40A. I bought the SR-B30A ($299/ regular $450) over the holiday to compare it with the Samsung HW-Q600C ($350/ regular $700) that I bought. And I ended up keeping the Yamaha. It performed much better in bass despite only having ...
Sound Bar recommendation
The Klipsch 200 or Samsung HW-S60D are your best options in your price range. The Klipsch will run you about $350 (on sale) and the Samsung $280. Klipsch is a 3.1.2 system, Samsung is a 5.0 system. If you need one a little less expensive, I'd go with 1. Sonos Ray 2. Samsung HW-S50B 3. Bose TV Speake...
Onn. 5.1.2 Soundbar from Walmart
Did you end up keeping the soundbar and do you still like it? How useful have you found the surround speakers? I've been considering getting a soundbar and was impressed with the in-store demo on this one. I'm hesitant because Onn has been hit or miss for me in the past. The other one I'm thinking a...

I just bought the Yamaha SR-B30 sound bar and I am not impressed with it at all. Yeah, it has Dolby Atmos, but good luck finding anything that broadcasts it on normal TV. The thing I don't like most about this soundbar is there is absolutely no volume leveling.
