That's sad. I don't see how anyone could be happy with HS7's as actual listening speakers. They sound atrocious, imo. Weak bass tin cans basically. And I'm a huge Yamaha fan lol. I've read reviews of the TV7 tweeters being fatiguing but haven't heard them myself. Why not keep it all JBL? 👍

Current “battlestation”

Front ported monitors. I had a couple Yamaha HS7's and sure they were crisp and "flat", but honestly the most boring speakers imagineable and impossible to get low end with the rear firing bassport. Bought the cheaper Kali LP-6 and it's night and day, so much better.

At that budget, you will get a better sound out of the headphones. There is no escaping that. In order to get a nice, balanced, full-range sound out of the speakers, you'd need room treatment.
