How to play guitar on my pc ?
I run a focusrite solo, ableton as my DAW, Yamaha HS5 monitors, akg k240 headphones, and use STL tones amphub for my simulations. It's a fun setup and can do just about everything

focusrite speakers
Yamaha HS5’s are within budget and a nice sounding set of monitors. If he wants to later on, he could also add the matching Yamaha sub to them for more bass. I use their bigger brothers l, the HS8. Whilst neither the HS8 or HS5 is truly a ‘reference’ speaker (a speaker with a very flat response curv

Stage Piano speakers
That’s over the top for a stage piano, Yamaha hs7, or even hs5 are plenty good enough for this

How to upgrade/optimize my setup?
Start with one solid hub. A usb audio interface with at least two mic pres and extra line inputs solves most of this. look at focusrite 4i4, motu m4, or audient id14 with an extra line input box. Install proper asio drivers. In ableton set 48k sample rate and a 128 buffer and your latency headache d

Audio interfaces
I have the 2i2 Gen3 myself. Love it. I run it from a MacBook Pro, with balanced line-outs to Yamaha HS5 Monitors. I also have Sony MDR-7506 Monitor Headphones plugged in to it and find the monitoring combo to be really good. I recently added a Shure SM7B cardiod mic to the Scarlett, although between

Best option for monitoring
FRFR should also be "flat and true", it's in the name after all - Full Range Flat Response. I personally use a Headrush FRFR-Go for home use, and an FRFR112 for gig volume - using the Aux In on the FRFR-Go or the second XLR input on the FRFR112 to sum the stereo output back into the one speaker. Compact setups and bright monitoring speakers, bright sound fatigueness
Inline eq would be the easiest and cheapest option. Bypass button is a must so you can swap back to flat without changing all your settings every time. The Yamaha tweeter is intentionally bright for mixing (producing not djing). It's meant to help you catch all the little details you might miss othe

What should I buy next?
Are you asking me? Recently I don't use any amp, I mostly do recording session and it's almost always direct to the interface or preamp (various). Practice at home, I also directly plug to the instrument input of my audio interface and monitor it via a pair of Yamaha HS5 nearfield speakers or ATH m4

Home office redecorated
Sound is provided by Yamaha HS5 monitors with a Yamaha sub, connected to a FocusRite Scarlett Solo. This is a really nice setup. Good job. Be sure the tweeter is pointed at your ears, actually point both at an imaginary point a foot behind your head, in a triangle shape, for improved stereo image.
