I doubt that the Dre’s were flat. I believe Beat would lose sales for recreational consumers. I have been confirming my mixes with AirPod Pros. I recommend that try to kick up about $230.00 and get a pair of the Yamaha HS3 of HS4 ($245.00). Guitar Center current have used for $165.). Don’t let these little speakers fool you. They can get pretty loud if needed. Loudness is not what you need to achieve a good mix especially if your room isn’t

i think a lot of people are missing that you're using this system for playback, casual music listening. no it's not going to sound great or full range, but yeah i mean you can connect things up and it will all make sound personally tho since it's the holiday season i'd just look around for whatever

Yeah these are the Yamaha hs3. The smallest in the lineup. I started with 8’s then had 5’s and now the 3’s which save so much desk space and still sound really good. You could definitely still use them for hobbyist music production or for demo work.

Yes there are small monitors but you will want a subwoofer to go with them (you can put it under the desk). For example, a pair of Yamaha HS3 or HS4 with an HS8S subwoofer.

It’s best to invest in monitors. You can use your headphones for writing, creating, recording and setup a mix. Your headphones are sonically enhanced to sell especially at the low frequency end. With head phones the room is not the issue. It’s your Dr Dre’s. If they were designed for mixing they would sell. They are not set for a flat frequency response. I tested one model out because of the name & price. I knew I I could not mix with them because they felt comfortable on my ears and they s
