Viewing Wyze cam other than phone app
The fix is to stop viewing through the Wyze app entirely and put the cameras behind your own RTSP/WebRTC layer, then throw a kiosk dashboard on the TV. Easiest route, no firmware flashing: docker-wyze-bridge (mrlt8 on GitHub). It logs into your Wyze account, pulls most cams (including the 2K/v4 stuf

WiFi RTSP Camera that doesn't need an app to setup
reolink works great, but if you get some Wyze V3's those can work with thingino firmware which effectively makes them app-less. Note that V4 are NOT supported

Door dasher came back 2 days later and left me these notes…
If your phone is on the same network as the camera, you dont need internet (unless you want to access the cloud service). As long as you have a good wifi router you can get signal for 100+ yards. Even the cheap cameras can do playback for a week or so with a a decent microSD. I got the Wyze cam v3 P

WiFi RTSP Camera that doesn't need an app to setup
Holy shit this great. I can convert my old Wyze v3's over and ditch the app altogether. AND it bakes in ONVIF support so I can integrate some older cams into my UniFi Protect? Hell yeah man, THANK YOU.

I have 256 GB MicroSD cards in them and they record continuously. My mom has the Wyze Cam OG's which are newer in window mounts and they work ju

Advice on keeping eyes on unwanted visitors
we've had really good experiences with cheap Wyze cameras. we have a random mix of different models we got from a local hardware store and they all set up on the home wifi and work well together using the Wyze app. they're called something like Wyze cam v3 and v4 and some other names, but they all d

Anyone know of a bird camera with a separate viewing screen option?
Just clicked the link you sent. Honestly I would search for web/security cams and not birding-specific ones. Most of them allow live-streaming though often optimized for capturing clips with motion detect. I have a Wyze Cam v3 that was cheap and seems good for streaming in the app (I think you need

Outdoor Camera with Live Viewing
For your use case, you don't need anything fancy. Wyze Cam v3 is around $35-40 and does exactly what you want, works on WiFi, live view on phone, local storage option so no subscription needed. Totally fine for checking in on weather and cabin conditions.
