Yeah it does click into place. It definitely took some time for me to know how the clasp works, it was my first time using their straps. So it can be annoying to figure it out. I think the Helio Strap is easier to use since it just Velcros on. With the whoop strap, you have to adjust it to the size

Helio with whoop adapter
I've got the 3D printed adapter which means I can use my Whoop straps but I do find it sits more proud on my wrist than I'd like.
