Why's everyone rolling with heart rate monitors?

People track their training as well as their sleep. I imagine what you’re seeing is called a Whoop strap. I’ve seen a few, even had one myself a while back. I don’t wear them to BJJ anymore, just during cardio/weight workouts. For me, it’s fun looking at the data and seeing how my heart performed in

Apparently I died during open mat today

I use a whoop band with an arm strap :) - my gym allows it, and putting it up on my bicep doesn’t really disturb me or my training partner

Oura Ring?

https://www.reddit.com/r/ouraring/comments/1n38dbc/oura_partnered_with_tech_surveillance_company/ If i was you, I would read this reddit post before buying an oura ring. Maybe a whoop band is a good option (if you can afford oura, you can afford whoop), since you can wear it on different body parts, not

Quantified Scientist Review of Helio Strap

Just watched, he wore it both on wrist and on his bicep (with an old whoop strap). For the wrist the heart rate in various exercises was good to very good (correlation above 0.9 in all cases with reference device). On the bicep it was the best or among the best he's ever tested (0.97-1.0 correlation

Any truth to this ?

Yes yes yes a 1000 times yes. I used to work out from 2000-2130 with the last 45 mins being cardio. I too used to "sleep" normally or so I thought. But since I got a whoop band I realised that my quality of sleep is piss poor. While my H/R goes down to normal from HIIT in 15 mins resting HR at night

Tips for learning how to moderate alcohol consumption?

Get a whoop strap and let it show you how much shittier everything is on the days you drink.

For those who no longer struggle with anxiety or had anxiety… what changed?

Try wearing a whoop band or Apple Watch when you run. Practice on keeping your HR around 130-155 for 30 mins it’ll get uncomfortable but you can monitor it so you know you are okay. Once you get okay with that ,gradually do that but every 5 mins through out the run increase your speed to make your h

Rowing comparison between Fenix 8 47mm AMOLED and Whoop 5.0 MG

I'm pleasantly surprised at how similar both were.

The manhattan chart of heart rate is very similar, particularly the peaks and lows.

The heart rate zones use different metrics, but allowing for that (i.e. zone 3 for Garmin is a mix of Zone 1 and 2 for Whoop) they seem to correlate quite well.

This thing isn’t very good.

Ignore anyone jumping on you for the negative take. I wear both a Fitbit device and WHOOP. I use both apps daily. This type of counter-balanced feedback (against the normal "this is great" type) is important for product development because it helps improve a product over the glowing reviews which of

Heart rate monitor recommendations

FWIW: I wear a Whoop (optical HR monitor) on my upper arm 24/7. I barely notice it. For 98% of my rides, I just use the data from the whoop strap instead of my garmin chest strap. I have compared the 2 of them multiple times by double recording and the whoop is usually 99% in-line with the garmin. A
