My small room listening setup complete
This is a 9 sq.m. room that I tried to cram everything in. I used to have the Wharfedale Linton here and finally accepted that it was quite too big. The Q Concerto Meta replaced that nicely, a little bit harder to drive but I feel that it's easier to control in such a small room. Used to always watc

GR-Research: Real Engineering or Audiophile Hype?
I have the NX Studios, previously had Wharfedale Lintons and Elac Unifi 2.0's before that. The NX Studios are just in a different league than those. A friend of mine also built the NX Otica's, which are better yet and I'd rather have those but I'm not into DIY stuff. Yes, Danny knows his shit, he ha

Saying Bye To My Cornwalls Next Month...
Yeah I've been considering wharfedale super Lintons and jbl l100 MK2. My budget is ~$3k new or used, and I want something with a retro hifi stereo system aesthetic. They both look worse to me and require stands. I really like that the Cornwalls feel like furniture, and the fortes will do that to an

Reverse Engineering the Wharfedale Dovedale 90th Anniversary Speakers
If you are going through the effort of doing a custom build you should use a higher quality mid and tweeter. You can have better sensitivity, less basket resonance on the mid, and a higher first breakup mode on the tweeter. https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-SIG150-4-5.25-Signature-Series-Wo

Am I insane? Heresy IV's in a 10x12 room?
I have a room similarly sized. I couldn’t run Wharfedale Linton’s in there and had to move them into another room. Heresy’s don’t have quite the same bass extension but size is size. I was gonna get R3 Metas but found a minty pair of Sonus Faber Sonetto II (non-G2) for a song. I immediately canceled

Decided on Rega 3 RS and Wharfedale Linton, analysis paralysis on amp
I have Wharfedale Lintons and a Leak 130 amp. If I was doing it from scratch I’d check out a few different amps to get a bit more attack, drive and definition to low end - this combo is ideal if you like classical, acoustic stuff, not so great with electro, techno etc.

Wharfedale build quality
Perlisten and Arendal are just about the best built speakers out there these days, and they are both built in China. China can make great stuff as long as the production is controlled tightly. That said, there is a thread on one of the audio forums with internal pictures of the Wharfedale Elysian, a

Speakers for 3 grand, EU, warmer sound
Always try to get speakers secondhand if you can - they are mostly wooden boxes, so furniture, not tech. Harbeth is the first name that springs to mind for what you say you want, with Spendor Classic equally appealing and Sonus Faber options not that far behind. Harbeth Super HL5 and Spendor Classic

Power Amp Suggestions Pls
I have owned this NAD and ran it with some Wharfedale Linton’s speakers. I didn’t care for the combo. The Hypex ucd amp section just didnt have enough current for the Lintons that dig down deep. The result was a lean sound that left me longing for more. I then ran the C3050 as a preamp feeding a Wil

First HiFi setup for electronic music (Techno/House) – €1.000–1.500, open-plan attic, Germany
Check second hand Hegel H80s for the amp, if you like the Røst sound, you should be able to score one for under 500€. For techno, I would not recommend a wharfedale linton, I own a set but I don't think the sound signature is good for electronic music. Maybe dynaudio would be an inteesting choice
