UTR tested
I'm currently in Disney world with my family and I've used the UTR for the kids as they have lots of devices and also for our apple TV. Initial thoughts after 2 nights with it... Range is very limited. We have conjoining rooms and the second one of the kids goes in the next room with their tablet, i

UTR in stock. Europe
Yep. If there was any annoyance in my tone, it was meant for the excessive “UTR in stock” and “look at my UTR” posts. I am also surprised by the demand! To answer your question: my “unlimited” phone hotspot plan throttles to 128 Kbps after some modest amount of data, so I’d prefer to stay on whateve

Is the relative performance of the UTR as bad as I am seeing in online reviews?
The UTR is not designed to be a speed demon. It's designed to be very compact and reasonably affordable and provide turnkey access to your Unifi network (and other travel router benefits). Those are the things it's good at. For starters, it only has WiFi 5 and it's compact form factor will certainly

Question about the Travel Router and streaming
Could it work, yes. I have been using the UTR a lot while my wife has been hospitalized / undergoing outpatient treatment over the past couple months, including the last 31 days straight and a 3-night inpatient stay this week. It is good, but I would give you this summary of my experience: - The UTR

Beware…
I keep seeing people compare it to the gli.net, Ubiquiti did that in one of their videos I no longer seem to have the link to, so they kinda brought that on themselves. Everything since then is a combination of us not letting them forget that and their stupid plastic soap bar being hot garbage by co

Introducing: Dream Machine Beast. (Works with your UTR)
Last vacation we took was a VRBO with a T-Mobile 5G connection. Speed tests and continuous ping tests showed it as being pretty stable but it would not connect to teleport at all. I went as far as getting custom firmware through Ubiquity and all the firmware updates I could imagine. I tried to defau

UTR back in stock at shop.ui.com
Depends on your priorities. I’d say that the UTR is better if you value simplicity/portability over performance/flexibility. As for the hype: it’s a Ubiquiti product? People get excited when their patch panels are in stock.

What’s the hype on UTR
I have the Glinet Beryl. It is a fantastic device, but it is a bulky device and the interface is somewhat more difficult to deal with in terms of connecting to it. You have to use a browser and type in the admin IP address. The thing that’s great about the UTR is that it’s almost the size of a few c

UTR for use as a router for on the go in the car
UTR supports both Teleport (their custom Wireguard VPN to your UniFi setup) and custom Wireguard configs. You can toggle between them too so you can teleport back home and then toggle the VPN to use a Wireguard config for Mullvad for example. Currently AFAIK UTR only supports ONE Wireguard config. E

30 days with the UTR
I get it, but I think it underlines ubiquiti’s strategy. This first iteration is trying to differentiate from GL.iNet through smaller form factor. The only other thing I’ll add is I don’t typically encounter a gigabit uplink. Most uplinks at hotels/airports/cafe’s are 10-50mbs, and from my testing,
