I have a Synology and a UNAS device in the same place and the Synology keeps drives significantly cooler. It’s on the order of 15-20C different. Ubiquiti just needs to raise those fan RPMs and let the device be a bit more proactive with cooling.

Check out Aoostar R1, Intel N150 based, with two HDD bays, similar price as UNAS 2 but with quite more performance and capabilities Arm cpu used by Ubiquiti will offer.

I haven’t tried a UNAS, I’ve set one up. Definitely lacks what my Synology has. But UNAS would integrate really well with my all Ubiquiti cams and network. But Synology does the trick for me for now
