Finally ready to upgrade from Apple Airport to Ubiquiti – looking for advice
Is the Dream Router a solid choice for this setup, or should I be looking at the Dream Machine instead? Can't really speak to this very well. The UDM SE seemed to better fit my needs at the time but if I was starting now, I'd probably consider one of the Cloud Gateways. You'll have a bit more flexib

UDR7 Dream Router keeps rebooting randomly
I purchased a UDR when it first released and was very excited as it was my first Ubiquiti product. I too had a similar situation where I was working from home and it would randomly reboot. After a week’s worth of WiFi dropping 5-6 times per day, I put in a ticket and RMA’d the UDR for a new one. I k

Amplifi Alien stopped broadcasting Wi-Fi signal
Unfortunately, the individual radios last a few years then just die out of nowhere. Since the reboot didn't fix the issue, you'll likely need a new router. eBay has a few new Amplifi Aliens. UniFi sells the Dream Router 5G Max which looks a lot like the Amplifi Alien, with newer technology, but wors

Dream Router - unable to use camera on Microsoft Teams calls
After trying everything and zero change I've reluctantly given up and swapped the UDR out for my original ISP router. Resolved the problem immediately 😕. I've found a post on the Ubiquity sites forum and other folks having the same problems I had.

Is this a fake Dream router 7?
Ubiquiti's had three different devices following that basic chassis design: The original Dream Machine (UDM), the Dream Router (UDR) and the Dream Router 7 (UDR7). You've got a UDR. If whoever sold it to you said it was a UDR7, you got sold a lie.

Dream Router 7. Is the 4th port down for internet input only?
I had this exact same setup, and tried with both the 10G and Gigabit adapters, both got insanely hot, started dropping packets and disconnecting regularly. For some reason, the ubiquiti adapters don’t show the temperature in the UI, maybe I have a faulty UDR but had to revert back to the RJ45 port.

At this point it must be a hardware issue, Right? Wifi Constantly dropping, kicking devices off, requiring soft reset on Unifi Dream Router
It is possible your UDR is failing, especially POE output. I am not super familiar with ubiquiti's UI, does it provide diagnostic information for POE like enterprise gear does?

Just asking, is this one of those Black Friday "sale" or is actually a rare occurrence of a deal?
Google up UDR fan noise and read the half dozen reddit threads, and watch some of the YouTube videos that come up, before you pull the trigger. https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/s/BZi2ibjgWg https://community.ui.com/questions/Unifi-Dream-Routers-terrible-cooling-design/d1dcdda4-e32e-45f2-9712-961de9
