Walmart still has an Amplifi system for sale.
The Amplifi line from Ubiquiti is actually a good reliable WiFi and Mesh system for the average home user. I had two of the Amplifi Aliens and they were great devices very good WiFi coverage and easy to setup. I never had any issues out of them.

New house set up
Unfortunately there isn’t one brand that does everything well so depending on what you want you’ll end up with a few brands/options/hubs. Here’s my setup of a little over a year and I’ve had 0 issues in my new house. I use Ethernet whenever possible, and give static IPs to every smart home device. M

Good Routers
If you’ve got the funds for it I would totally recommend the Ubiquiti Amplifi Alien - it’s a really good WiFi 6 router. Bought it a few years ago after a recommendation from a friend, and it has given me dependable service with no major dramas. Also comes with a range extender (complete with Etherne

On the iOS26 beta, and HomeKit now shows how long a device has been “No Response.”
I've had my fair share of No Response issues within HomeKit and it mostly started when I got a a tp-link Deco router. (my first WiFi6 router) A lot of my devices did not like how the router managed the WiFi 6 standard especially on 2.4GHx band (if you turned that off and went with the older WiFi sta

AP7 disconnects, throughput inconsistencies, and other WiFi reliability issues - part 3
I’m just going to chime in with my thoughts. For me it’s almost always on the 2.4 ghz. Can I say I’ve never seen it on the 5 ghz, I can’t say for sure, but I know I’ve never seen it on the 6 ghz (I only have 1 or two devices capable of using it). Outside of the house seems way worse. If I sit on my

Just asking, is this one of those Black Friday "sale" or is actually a rare occurrence of a deal?
This is a fantastic direct replacement for the amplifi alien router. Its antennas reach the WiFi farther than the alien’s too.

It’s Official!
I currently have two Amplifi Alien routers with one in bridge mode acting as a mesh node. Has a dedicated 6GHz backhaul connection to not eat into overall bandwidth from other devices. I have zero connectivity issues across maybe 30-40 devices connected. I always see a NAT of Open across other devic

Bufferbloat
I know this post is 2 years old. But after doing a ton of digging this is what helped me. I've been getting D BufferBloat scores and having the worst jitter/lag in CS2 that I've ever seen. Making it unplayable. Rubber banding like I've never seen before. I swore it was a problem with a CS2 update. N

Worth investing on gaming monitor/mouse/keyboard to play on GeForceNOW?
Thanks! My Wi-Fi is pretty good since I upgraded to an AmpliFi Alien, it’s night and day difference. The thing is, I tried a ethernet, and for some reason, I get lower or very similar results to my Wi-Fi, and quite inconsistent which was surprising That’s another rabbit hole I’ll get into soon. Mayb

How should I configure my AmpliFi Alien to stop my Apple HomeKit from falling into an existential crisis every other day?
Great advice. Thank you so much. Yes. I have my Apple TV as the preferred Home Hub! My Eve Thread smart plugs have been more stable than Meross WiFi plugs but still occasionally go No Response, which I can fix by flipping the breakers and power cycling everything (some of my smart plugs are in reall
