What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?

I don't want to risk sounding like a shill, but we also bought a beauty rest black and absolutely love it. We had an original Tuft and Needle for 8 years. That was awesome especially at the start but it really started to break down over time. We went to a Hassleless and spent an hour plus laying on

Is this a firmness problem?

i still have a queen original tuft and needle mattress. Every time i sleep on my side on it, its just shoulder pain galore. Someone in my post said the hybrid is more firm than the TN original.
