TP-Link router vulnerabilities found in Latvia
I replaced my 3-unit TP-Link AX3000 (Deco X55) mesh setup with two Cudy WR3000S models running OpenWRT, one in dumb AP mode. The only compliant I have is range, and as far as I can tell it’s pretty much just aesthetic - one bar lower in my bedroom, but speeds are fine. My main complaint with the Dec

Router / AP recommendations for house
Depends on your budget and internet speed. As an other poster said you’d want one AP per floor. Get a 3 pack of TP Link deco- X55 or X75 would be fine or if you want more future proof then BE63 or similar. Should be in the 200-500 euro range. Omada and Unifi are better solutions, require a bit more

How to avoid double nat type?
You should disable the Optimum wifi. Where are you connecting the first Deco x55 to the router? If it's in the same room or next it's going to be an overkill and the 2 wifi devices will just cause interference with each other. What you can do is take the network name and password from the Optimum wi

Appreciate the comment and question! We do right now, yes. I need to think on what you said to make sure I understand. What we’ve got is AT&T Fiber 1000 service with a BGW320 gateway that’s been providing adequate service throughout the house for both of us to be on calls all day. 1800 square feet o

Thanks for your comment! His laptop does have an ethernet port, so this could work. Mine does not but I do have a USB-C to ethernet adapter that I could technically use. However, we're a standard modern home of IoT. So my hope is that I continue to get ~500mbps in a back bedroom office using the Wif

Thank you so much! Not sure if it's annoying to keep typing our configuration or to point you to where I have, but I feel like we're in the ballpark based on what you are saying.... PSA: DECOs Should Use “Access Point Mode” if Using a Separate Router
Just had ATT internet installed with their AllFi WiFi router. Connected my Deco X55 to the 10Gbps Ethernet port on the AllFi router and in AP mode wireless internet speeds are MUCH slower than when using WiFi router mode. I’m using the Deco MESH system since ATT charges to add extenders to their rou

Ax3000 Deco x55 for fiber
The Deco X55 is not going to be the right product for you. Especially in comparison with an Eero 7, which is a Wi-Fi 7 product. The main reasons are that the X55 is Wi-Fi 6, and while still powerful, it might feel like a downgrade from a Wi-Fi 7 product. Additionally, the X55 is limited to 1 Gbps sp

Deco X10 vs Deco X50
Get the 6ghz backhaul xe75 or xe70. I tested the deco x55 and it's not even close to the above. Trust me

Deco x55 speeds
I added an x55 to my Deco network and it caused all sorts of problems. After removing it, I haven't had any issues. The problem may be the x55s.
