For concrete/brick houses, mesh WiFi is definitely the way to go since those walls kill signal. You'll need two parts: a VDSL2 modem whivh you can grab a basic one like the TP-Link TD-W9970 (around $50-60) or ask Telstra if they'll give you a plain modem when you switch. Any decent router will work here to be honest. Think about how you want to setup your environment though - you can connect directly to the ONT (wall) using PPPoE or you can turn your 2.4 and 5GHz off on the sky router and connect your new router to it using DHCP. Personally, I’d connect directly to

If you are fine with a Wi-Fi 6 Mesh router, JB Hi-Fi has D-Link M30 Aquila Pro Mesh System (2 Pack) for $149. Or the ASUS ZenWiFi XD4S AX1800 WiFi 6 Mesh Router (2 Pack) on Amazon for $109. Most of the Wi-Fi 5 (AC) or Wi-Fi 5 (AX) routers will handle 500Mbps, but better to go with Wo-Fi 6 if not 7.

If you want to get 500+ on the Deco E4R, you are going to need to buy a Deco M4, connect that to the NTD, then connect the E4Rs to the M4 wirelessly. I bought the Deco E4s as well and I am pissed the product description says "speeds of up to 1167 Mbps". I will never buy a tp-link product again.
