Coffee is really weak on my DeLonghi ECP 35.31
Hello fellow coffee enthusiast. Have that same machine and portafilter. Your problem is your grinder. I use a timemore C3 ESP Pro. Yes, it’s a hand grinder but it doesn’t take that much longer and I’ve been very happy with it for dark and medium roasts. They appear to be on sale, on Amazon for $80.

I think I may need a new separate hand grinder for french press/clever? [£60]
Timemore C3 Pro at that budget is honestly a great pick for filter, hand grinding coarse is way more consistent than most cheap electrics anyway. Worth trying a fresh light roast too since decaf can mask a lot of the sweetness you're chasing.

Getting into coffee-making as a hobby, starting with pour-over/immersion methods before espresso, does this plan make sense?
At that budget i would look at each line item aggressively. Do you already have a kitchen scale you can use? What’s the grinder that your dad has? Are you already budgeting for your beans and filters because that can get expensive over time. Any equipment that you can pick up on Facebook marketplace

DF 54 V4 - does it clog?
For espresso grinds I was wore out using the timemore. For more coarse grounds it was fine but when I moved to espresso for my daily coffee I had to go electric and don’t regret it. Both make consistent espresso ground coffee but a lot more work goes into the C3.

Looking for a coffee grinder for my moka pot (uk based)
Whatever manual grinder you pick, get the best you can afford. However, you don't need espresso capability for the moka, so you should be able to stay under $100 with no problem whatsoever and have a very high quality grinder that will last for many years. We are lucky to have so many quality grinde
