Looking for good chair options for under $200
Racing style gaming chairs are functionally worthless, they are designed for vehicles that go really fast, and people like them because they are cool looking. Also the fact most all of these chairs have a hard seat, cheap foam and don’t last more than a few years GTRacing being one of the main offen

Waking up with back pain
Just as a sidetone on this,. sometimes the cause of back pain (or in my case, sciatica) can be quite subtle. About 3 years ago I had a major ilife change and quit my job and basically threw away all my belongings and car-tripped moving cross country from Colorado to Oregon. While I took "only what w

Is the Herman Miller embody worth the ~2k price tag.
I've gotten to sit in a lot of them and the embody is extremely comfortable, don't get me wrong, but if you want something to keep you from hunching, you're probably going to need something with more aggressive lumbar support. I'd recommend the aeron or the steelcase leap because of that exact reaso

What are the best affordable accessories for long desk sessions?
congrats on the job. honest take: skip the gaming/streamer chair aesthetic, those racing-seat shapes wreck your back after a few months. proper ergonomic office chairs are what you want. priority order: chair ($200-400 used). most important by far. buy used on facebook marketplace, look for herman m

What chair model is this?
I think Herman miller makes fantastic chairs and the ergonomics are on par, but the Steelcase engineering outclasses even them when it comes to longevity imo.

Are gaming chairs actually worth it, or just overhyped?
Personally, the Steelcase Leap v2 (which often gets recommended in these threads) was bad for me, back pain, neck pain, etc. I ended up replacing it with a no name (least to my knowledge) ergo chair. I have subsequently gotten a Titan Evo XL Nanogen chair from SecretLab. Absolutely love it. Perfect

Best office chairs to look for second-hand, what models should I learn to identify?
Here’s what I’d say: Focus on the “big three” and some of their common well received products. This means: Haworth Zody Very Soji Fern Herman Miller Sayl Aeron Embody Mirra Steelcase Leap Amia Think Gesture There are lesser “second tier” brands like Hon, SitOnIt, Allsteel, HumanScale, Knoll, and man

EC300 vs EC200: Which one actually fits your need? (5 testers wanted)
USA, Philadelphia PA 5’10 156 pounds I’ve gone through quite a few chairs. SteelCase Think V2, SteelCase Amia, Allsteel Acuity, Haworth Fern, Knoll Generation, HumanScale liberty, Mirra 2, etc. I find that I benefit most from a lumbar system that places me in a healthy-upright position while still p

Need help deciding between these options
I'd go with the Leap V2 out of that list. It has the best overall ergonomics, build quality, and adjustability. The only downside is the seat foam, which is a bit firm but aside from that, it's easily the best chair in that group. The Amia does have slightly better seat foam, and it's still a solid

Looking for my first non gaming chair and these are the two I’ve seen so far that are affordable enough for me if anyone has any different recommendations let me know
Unfortunately, as a bad back haver myself (though not as bad as your situation) I've learned the hard way it's better to fork over the dough for proper ergonomic chairs than it is to settle with cheapy options. I understand why you'd want to go cheaper, as far as I'm concerned the prices new ergonom
