Sovol Toolchanger — More details from last weeks livestream
It's really annoying that they seem to be abandoning the flying gantry so none of the advancements made here will be able to be ported back to older printers. I don't see them offering an official toolchanger upgrade path now for those units (you'll need to install an INDX or other toolchanger DIY).

Just saw this and wanted to share
Sovol used an open source design for its sv08 which means it requires a lot of tinkering and it’s loud and slow and ugly

Kitting out a Voron 2.4 conversion.... Cheaper to buy SV08 and gut it?
The electronics in the SV08 are NOT on the level of a Voron - it is a single board computer that is under powered with both processors on the same board. It might work for a while but… I may be a bit biased - I started with an SV08 when they first came out. The only parts from the factory that are s

Best mini voron for quality/precision?
The only official mini voron is the 0.2. (and technically the 0.1 I guess) idk much about "engineering materials", but no voron uses a chamber heater. It's not endorsed nor allowed to be discussed(see rule 7 for this sub). Precision/quality is all on you. Build it right and it'll be as precise as yo

Demand for Assembled/Partially Assembled Voron Printers
A DIY printer is a project first, printer second. A mass-produced printer is a printer first and project a very distant second, if at all. Then there's the whole support-aspect... Supporting an "open product" where the user may've done whatever the hell they want is a nightmare for support desks. Cl

Printer recommendations
I think buy Sovol if you want to tinker, but you're not ready to build a whole printer yourself. If you just want to print without issues (for the most part) buy another brand, like Bambu or something. I bought my SV08 to tinker with and learn how to modify, and it's given me reason to do so from da

Next Chapter coming soon...
I don't understand it either.I loved the "open source" idea of the SV08, but then I got to know how Sovol actually operates. Therefore, I most probably won't buy another printer from them again.

SV08 structural changes
If you’re going to build a new frame for it you might as well just build a voron 2.4 instead of buying a sv08.

Zero Toolhead doesn't unload filament,
If there are metal lints, a soft metal rubbed on a hard metal. As the gears (hopefully) are hardened, id look around the gears for mechanical damage. Good chance your gears are ok. But im afraid you will have to buy a new set and compare to find out. I would clean everything carefully and test again
