I literally just bought a sv08 max. Why universe?

Yeah, it's time to replace them. But for real the time to replace them is the same moment you buy the SV08, because they install wrong idlers there. Just look at the comparison between my stock idlers and the correct 2GT profile ones that I installed.

I modded my sv08 into a stealthchanger and replaced the mainboard with a btt kraken. The first thing you should upgrade imo is the dinky 150w psu with something like the lrs350-24. I think upgrading the mainboard is worth it because the stock board is cheap af, and you will save yourself from a lot

Don’t know what machines you have but my sv08 prints better than my Bambu so…

It's really annoying that they seem to be abandoning the flying gantry so none of the advancements made here will be able to be ported back to older printers. I don't see them offering an official toolchanger upgrade path now for those units (you'll need to install an INDX or other toolchanger DIY).

edit actually, I see now that those are Voron builds with green accents, not the ratrig vcore. So I guess feedback would mostly pertain to sovol performance I'm currently going back and forth between a RatRig Vcore and Sovol SV08 Max, in search of a 500mm build volume. Since you appear to run both,

I'd say a SV08 greatly benefits from Mainline + Eddy + Triangle Labs or Microswiss Hotend. This with some good macros gets you 90% of the way. Then f.e. a case + chamber heating for some more challenging filaments like ABS/ASA or similar. Lastly INDX or Stealthchanger if you want multimaterial.
