I discovered a few years ago that a lot of bluetooth speakers have latency even when you wire directly into the aux port. For that reason I ended up using a Soundcore Motion+ cause it had one of the lowest latencies I could find.

Of course you are right about iOS for portable music making. Someone should make a portable battery-powered phone/tablet dock with speakers and audio/MIDI I/O. Or maybe even a portable keyboard with a slot / connection for hooking in a phone/tablet. Bluetooth MIDI controllers may be the best option

You don't have a latency problem? My soundcore 2 has huge latency. I also have the motion plus, that one has almost none latency.

Soundcore motion plus. Its a bluetooth speaker but also provides zero latency aux input. This may be important for your use case.
