I discovered a few years ago that a lot of bluetooth speakers have latency even when you wire directly into the aux port. For that reason I ended up using a Soundcore Motion+ cause it had one of the lowest latencies I could find.

Yeah Bluetooth buds are a no for me these days, my qudelix + iems are the best of both worlds. I just hate the battery stuff. I don't think there's been anyone who's tested the microphones of most speakers. I just know I've used the Stormbox Micro 2, Uboom L, Uboom X and Soundcore Motion+ as a speakerphone and have never had anyone complain.

I hate how not many Bluetooth speakers have an aux input these days.Reddit is quite good for finding options for things like that though. Had a Soundcore Motion+ that was quite good. Stopped working recently though unfortunately.

Of course you are right about iOS for portable music making. Someone should make a portable battery-powered phone/tablet dock with speakers and audio/MIDI I/O. Or maybe even a portable keyboard with a slot / connection for hooking in a phone/tablet. Bluetooth MIDI controllers may be the best option
