My wife is looking for a point and shoot digital camera

I’ve been eyeballing a lot of older Sonys (a5000/a6000 era). They don’t look very vintage, but with lenses and edits, the pictures can absolutely produce vintage vibes.

Nikon coolscan V

That's ..painfully expensive. It really isn't very hard to scan yourself using a simple digital camera / macro lens. Base cost probably $300 (if you don't have any camera yet) or $150 if you have a body, but no macro lens & no film holder. There are various kits with film holder, light panel & vario

what's a good beginner and budget friendly camera to start with?

I think people care too much about the camera body when really anything that fits your budget is fine, i saw a person make a short film with a £20 camcorder from Ebay and it was so moving and I personally liked the quality better than a phone screen where everything is overly sharp and the colours a

Looking for a hybrid camera that meets my needs <$300 Recommendations

You’re going to have to compromise a lot more, whether it be budget, range/type of shooting, or features. The type of shooting you’re looking to do unfortunately spans most if not all focal ranges. For landscape you’re looking at around 20mm focal length and for wildlife that will be 250mm+. You wil

What Olympus camera uses this MF-1 mount?

I'm fairly certain even the best 4/3rds camera would be a downgrade or at best a sidegrade from even a Sony A5000. You definitely want to look at MFT instead.

Smaller companion to 5D?

An older crop sensor mirrorless camera is a good option. Something like an Olympus e-pl, Lumix g, gx, or a Sony NEX or A5000. I recently got a Sony NEX 5n for cheap, image quality is surprisingly good, and the files work great in lightroom.

Loving These After Work Rides With Just an iPod and a Camera

It was actually a Sony a5000. I have a lot of old digital cameras but for some reason I love the grain pattern at high ISO even though it's a newish cmos sensor. It feels like ccd or even film at times. At least much more than my a7. My favorite ccd camera I own is my Fuji finepix S1 Pro. Takes grea

Choosing a camera?

for that price an aps-c dslr like a Canon Rebel or Nikon DX series are quality cameras to learn the fundamentals and still make great images. maybe you could find a sony a5000 series mirrorless camera and a cheap lens, it uses e-mount so you can keep the lenses and upgrade the bodies later to more c

Best camera for a beginner on a tight budget? Considering a used Sony A6000

I learned basic photo editing via Lightroom first, then bought a Sony a5000 as my first camera. I took lots of good photos with it, then upgraded to the Sony a6000, which I took all over the world. To me, it’s an excellent entry point into photography and a good budget camera.

any idea how to get clinically diagnosed?

Your post on r/cameras immediately got removed as I was replying to it, so I’ll paste my comment here: Get a used camera online or from a camera store. Budget offerings like Sony’s A6000 series (EXCEPT THE A6700) often go for under 1000 CAD with a minimal shutter count (basically mileage for cameras
