Heavily leaning towards an FX2 right now. Bad idea?

So as someone who’s owned the A7iii, A7iv & Fx30; as well as I currently own the A7S iii, Fx3 & I just picked up the Fx2 I would say the Fx2 is a really good starter. It’s essentially an A7iv or A7C ii in a cinema line body. Truthfully I don’t shoot 4k 120 often and I do a lot of commercial and docu

I want to buy 2x FX Cinema Cameras. But I don't want to record in S-log or Cinetone. Based on this, which one should I go for and does this make me stupid for considering a FX3?

Hey, I’m on fx30 with a rig and audio equipment invested into the ecosystem at this point too— first off congrats for looking into the fx line. They really are special cameras and you can’t go wrong with any of them. First off I’ll explain that s-cinetone is actually just a picture profile preset, w

At what point do/did you buy a cinema line camera?

A cinema-line Sony body from the FX6 on up in my experience are only ever needed on jobs that eclipse a certain budget or that require the camera to have a certain 'look'. While that may sound silly it is usually the determining factor for me whether I bring a mirrorless-design cinema body vs a full

Best Codec for FX30?

The "I" Codec give you completely uncompressed footage so, inherently, it has the most detail and sharpness, period. That said, it also produces absolutely massive files. We're talking about like 13 mins of footage for something close to 7 or 10gb. Works super well in editors, since it's uncompresse

FX30 or ZV-E1

I’m trying to decide between these cameras too, maybe the FX3 too if I find the right deal or can’t pull the trigger before an FX3 II drops and kills the used price of the FX3. Because that’s another thing you have to think about when buying an FX3 in 2026: it might soon be replaced, maybe – or mayb

New Canon Cinema Camera (thoughts)

I think for me personally and just where I am in life I’d go with Sonys line of cameras. The C50 looks awesome and I’m glad that Canon is finally doing stuff like this, I even shoot canon right now. But I want to get into cinema and I think for me as someone who just graduated high school and has le

Welp….

Oh well if that’s the case, buy him an fx30 and get him in divinci resolve. That way, when he’s my age he doesn’t have to spend months learning how to film before starting his own YouTube channel! I’m all for child labor, but it’s of style these days for some reason. So I can’t offer him a job. (Fx3

I'm considering getting an FX30

Here I go throwing a wrench in the works. I traded my a74 and fx-30 for the a7v. Which was not that much more expensive than the fx-2. Now here is the problem. LUMIX offers some great cameras with video specs. Though not sure if you own Sony glass? If not That maybe the way to go? Nikon also has the

Why are some comments on fx30 so vicious, is it that bad if a camera doesn't perform insane in low light? I would love to hear your thoughts on it, previous users and industry professionals.

I have used FX-30 and I liked it. The lenses you choose will have a bigger impact on your image quality. Low light performance is overrated and a strange obsession youtube reviewers have with cameras. The best bang for buck low light performance improvement is to add light to your scene. Who are the

Been wanting this camera for so long

I bought the FX30 because of the crop sensor. Tons of lenses to play with. Being a cinema camera, the quality is excellent and in low light with a great lens you are set as well. These cameras are the pro line of Sony. They are made to last “forever” with good care. But you only keep lenses forever.
