anyone else think the fujifilm camera naming is a shitshow?

The Sony Aps-c naming convention is awful but it works like this: Entry level: a6000 (2014) replaced by a6100 (2019) Midrange: a6300 (2016) replaced by a6400 (2019) Enthusiast: a6500 (2016) replaced by a6600 (2019) One aps-c to rule them all: a6700 (2023) That’s how you get an a6400 that’s newer tha

New study shows people can't perceive higher than 1440p at 10'

I used to do this ALL the time with my Sony a73 & Sony a6300 back in the day when they first came out since the 1080 was dog shit lol

Before getting the FX3, i was doubting its dynamic range capabilities

The truth is that the scene isn’t high-contrast enough for you to really talk about dynamic range. I work with the GH7 and mainly, almost permanently, with the BMPCC 4K, but I come from the Sony a6300 world, with less dynamic range, and in similar scenes it was very easy to bring back the balance be

Travellers flying out of Singapore only allowed 2 power banks from April 15; extras to be discarded

Wait the wording is abit confusing, does this restriction include spare batteries? I regularly fly with my Sony a6300 with at least two spare batteries plus 1 in the camera. The batteries doesn't last very long, if continuously shooting, within 2h can fully drain the battery already. So now if I bri

When should you upgrade your camera?

Age doesn’t really have much to do with it, unless you’re close to the end of the lifespan on a mechanical shutter or mirror assembly and they don’t service it anymore. I amortize my cameras over 5 years and my lenses over 8, but even then only replace gear only if it is worn out (more rare in mirro

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

These guys left Sony and explain why.. in their LUMIX S1II & S1RII - LONG TERM REVIEW

Just left Sony for a S1Rii. I’m strictly a photographer. I started with Sony 10 years ago with a Walmart bought Sony. Then A6300 > A7riii>A7r4>A7CR. To me the pics out the camera on the Sony were too clinical had no Soul. Even using picture profiles. I’m blown away by the LUMIX. Sold all my Sony gea

Need help choosing mft bodies.

No I haven't used any Z mount DX camera. I know the Z50II is "weather sealed", but I cannot testify of how resistant it actually is. Sometimes companies say that a model is "weather resistant" while in fact it absolutely isn't. Case in point : Sony claims cameras like the A6300, A6500 and A6400 are

Is rolling shutter really a big deal?

In short, don't worry about it. To elaborate: Your time is better spent on learning lighting and color, IMO. Lack of rolling shutter is one of those features which is not as important as people think it is. It's noticeable only in fast pans, shaky action cam and strobe lights. How often are you shoo

First camera experience ruined 🥲 What do i do now?

That's a dead sensor. I had that on my a6300 after filming concert stage that had lazers. Very expensive fix if you're going through Sony directly. Absolutely no fix at home or cleaning will fix this unfortunately. I hope you can find a way to return this camera.
