Sony to Nikon?
Hey Mate, I've been a NIkon shooter for a long time and currently use a D4; dual D850s, still have a D750 and just bought a Z6iii. Lemme tell you a story about that So I made a massive mistake with a former partner I was working with and moved from Nikon to Sony with dual A&r4s, 8 lenses and a sony

Looking to upgrade to a camera that can shoot 4k 60.
Let me once again get up on my soapbox and preach the gospel of the ZV-E1... Exact same sensor and processor as the A7SIII and the FX3 in a much smaller, lighter and cheaper body. 4K60P with no crop, 4K120p with an APSC crop, amazing low light capabilities, 4:2:2 10bit codecs and really excellent AI

Need reccomendations on purchase of Gear.
The fx3 is an awesome camera. Slog-3, base iso 12800, Full Frame, that’s all super helpful. I also agree 100% with the first commenter, everybody has this setup, but there’s a reason for it. Ofc you will get more unique images with vintage lenses, but also especially if you shoot weddings, autofocus

I must have missed that, I apologize. You're looking for an upgrade then, my advice was predicated on you not already owning a camera. If you're absolutely in need of low light nothing will compare to a full frame Sony. I'd still encourage you to save money if you can and buy the a7siii, as it is $1

Returning my FX30 - What's the right upgrade from GH5 for event/social media work?
Go with the Sony ZV-E1. Significantly cheaper than FX3/A7S3 (especially if you're willing to buy used). Same sensor with great low light capabilities. AF is supposedly better than those cameras. And you get 4K60 SLog3 in 10 bit. If you're shooting run and gun (which it seems like you are), the ZV-E1

A7V vs FX3
Yes of course, but for OPs use case being photo and wedding/ run and gun video the A7V is a way better photo camera and probably still is enough for video. Full frame 4k 120p is nice but the A7V still has full frame 4K 60p and s35 4k 120p, enough for weddings and run and gun shooting. The cooling fa

FX3 price drop is inevitable right?
The FX3 (and to a lesser extent the A7Siii) has cornered the market in dance (electronic) music specifically because of the second base ISO. Now I'm not brand loyal to Sony - shot Nikon for years in photography and frankly would have stuck with them had Nikon made an FX3 equivalent. But having tried

Is it possible to connect remote zoom or focus controls to an a7siii?
I went down a rabbit hole with the oracle… here’s the summary. Short answer: Yes, but only partially. Zoom and focus can’t be combined into one pan-bar control on an a7S III—you’ll need separate systems. Key points: • Zoom works if you use a Sony power zoom lens + compatible remote (multi-terminal/p

a7siii or FX3?
It depends on what you’re looking for. I’ve used many times the fx3 and I own an a7siii. I purchased it because i got a good deal a couple years ago in the official store. The results are almost the same on 800 iso (the a7siii has a bit more noise reduction at 12800 iso). If you want to take photos,

Having trouble deciding whether a Cine lens would be right for me - or is autofocus not actually that important as a solo filmmaker?
ngl autofocus is huge when you're solo and moving fast. i shoot on an a7siii too and the batis 18 is sharp enough for indie features. the vespids are lovely but missing focus on a wide moving shot kills the take every time. you can always rent the vespid for a weekend if you want that look for stati
