Is M43 Really That Rare? (Discussion)

There are a number of factors involved here but you can start with (I'll preface this with the fact I use both OM-1 & OM-3 and also the Sony A7r5 and A7Cii, and Nikon before that, however it's the OM-3 for me 95% of the time and I'm selling the A7r5 in the Summer). I will also mention that since I n

Would you stick with MFTeven if you got enough money to get a high end FF kit?

I have 4 of your 'ideal M43 kit' and the 40-150/2.8 which is very bit as good as the 50-200 (check the head to head testing), the 17mm I don't need (as I love and prefer my favourite lens - the OM 20/1.4 Pro). That just leaves the 150-600 on your list ... and I'd take the 150-400 over that every day

In your experience, what are the most reliable mirrorless cameras your photographers have used on set?

I used a Sony a7r5 for the last 3 years photos were good but weird camera to use and digi techs hated them. Never saw or heard of Sony on set here in NYC, with their prices better off Nikon or canon with less quirks

Wait Nikon z7iii or take Sony A7R V

I had an A7R4 and A7R5. I can’t stand Sony compared to Nikon. The Z7ii is still an excellent option for pure landscape, and I’d rather get a used GFX (and did for a bit) than shoot Sony.

Pulled the trigger on a Z8

There is zero chance you are seeing a Z8II in 2026 let alone the next 3 months, so you can relax. We will be lucky to see the Z9II before the end of the year, and as per usual Nikon will milk that for a while (probably 6-12 months) before starting the trickle-down of technology into lower priced bod

Missed my chance.

I shot the q3 before and the sensor is basically a sony sensor from a7r5 and cr. So the color is basically identical to the one of a way cheaper sony. The look of the images is not very desirable because it can be had cheaper and is nothing special.

Real estate shooting

What camera are you shooting on? Full frame would probably be fine, but I’d personally go for the sigma 14-24. Sony glass is not worth the premium, especially for real estate videos. Unless you’re also shooting super hi res stills on an a7r5, you will not notice a difference. If shooting on apsc go

Which lens for a beginner birder?

I use the Sigma 100-400 on a Sony body. I will probably upgrade to a 200-600 eventually, but it will weigh twice as much. It is possible to freehand shoot with the 100-400 if you're careful, but I use a monopod most of the time. I did upgrade the camera to a 56mp a7rV so I would have more "digital z
