Question for Nick!

We use Sony cameras. For sit down stuff we use a Sony a7s iii and a7 IV. The IVs overheat with USB c charging so you have to use a dummy plug. You'll also need an elgato cam link to connect the Sony to the PC. Sony cam out with the a7 V It's spelled Nik.

Google's search share falls below 90% - is AI the new king of search?

YouTube search is becoming ass. All the top hits when you search something is someone just trying to sell you something. For example, i searched for “Sony a7iv cinematic video “ and you will be fed four shorts about why to buy the a7iv Four videos on gear equipment that tries to make you buy the cam

Not sure where this fits in…. #sonyfx2

Dead on arrival… 🫤 So I’ve been digging into the upcoming Sony FX2, and I’m honestly struggling to understand who this camera is supposed to be for. It feels like Sony just slapped the A7IV’s guts into a slightly different body, called it “cinema,” and bumped the price up. With an expected price of

Washed Out Colors. What Am I Missing?

Hey everyone,

I’m working with 4K S-Log3 footage (4:2:2 10-bit) from my Sony Alpha 7 IV, edited in DaVinci Resolve 20 Public Beta.

The grading looks great inside Resolve, but after exporting and watching the video on macOS or Apple TV 4K, the colors look completely off — very washed out and flat c

Would you still choose Lumix if starting today?

Bro ive shot commercials for car brands where the s5ii failed on me in fast driving scenes. Trees looked all wobbly. For talking heads, yes you won’t notice. 90% of time I don’t notice, but the 10% where I do, it destroys the shot and limits my work. If the client requests fast driving scenes, with

Lumix still an underdog?

Autofocus has improved considerably but Lumix is still behind major brands. The inability to set custom brackets is baffling, especially if you shoot real estate. In order to get +-3 stops you have to shoot 7 pictures which is extremely annoying. The TTL flash performance is slightly sluggish compar

Would you recommend Sony Alpha A7II for Real Estate Photography? What lenses to use?

If all you're going to be doing is photos, it's fine, if dated, though you should probably do some market research (Ie. pick up the phone and actually call a couple of local real estate agents) to see if anyone in your area is getting work only doing photos these days. Case in point, in my local mar

A7V released - 33MP partially stacked, 7.5 stop IBIS, new processor, $2900 USD - available for preorder

Well I fucking hated jello video even 15 years ago when I knew nothing about videography, still fucking hate it, so I don't want to produce anything with jello shots. It also makes digital stabilization practically unusable. All in all, it's definitely not a hype thing for me. I own an A7IV currentl

Finally! Lesson learned! No more waiting for A7V or FX3 ll

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he only tested it inside for a long time with no overheating, said it still felt fine to touch. The A7IV gets hot to touch after an hour but I've never had a problem with it overheating and shutting down inside.
