Did I overreach ?

I have a Sony a6100 and a Sigma 30mm f/1.4. You did not make a mistake. I have a good variety of lenses and I always come back to the 30 mm. You may decide to use a zoom lens in the near future, but this is a great lens. Not only to start, but overall.

Hello am looking to buy my first lens as a beginner videographer and I was looking for used lenses and I saw this 2 they both are 400 dollars and I was wondering which one should I go with am planning to use it for mostly short films, car video, food videos and for personal vacation. Cam: Sony a6100

28-75 for sure, super sharp lens and the constant 2.8 aperture is nice. Plus it’s smaller so great for travel when paired with the a6100. I’ve shot dozens of weddings and product shoots with that lens!

Does not going full-frame kneecap my business potential?

While I think the a6100 is going to bottleneck you a bit (it's simply not modern, it's slow, events need you to react fast, the battery is small, it's built with mostly plastic, there's only one card slot), I do think you can try out newer photo editing tools. I swear the modern AI denoise tools I h

Bought my desired Sony alpha camera as a beginner but not feeling like I deserve this. What could be the reason?

So here's the thing, I am interested in clicking photographs. After suppressing my desire of buying a camera for 1 year I bought Sony alpha 6100 with dual lens 16-50 mm and 55-210 mm. I studied the main aspects such as ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed. I understood them theoretically however I am not ab

Ricoh GRiii vs Sony RX100 vii

Don’t forget the built in flash on the RX and the wider 24mm focal length! This is a pretty personal question based on your photography style. Take a look back through your albums, look at some of your favorite shots you’ve captured. Look for trends- are they at the wide end of the focal range? Gene

Is it worth going with the EOS R50 over the EOS R100?

It depends on what you want to do, how much you might spend in the future, and if you are okay with buying used: The a6100 is a very similar camera to the R50 - both of them have a plastic body, good autofocus, decent video, and very similar image quality. The design of the body is different of cour

The Tamron 28-75 is an INCREDIBLE lens. 100% go for that one. I use it regularly. If I had to choose just 1 lens to work with for a whole day of shooting, it would be that one (and have done). Autofocus is very fast and responsive on it too, if you’re using it with a Sony (not sure about your model

Deflect // [4000 x 6000] [OC] Cincinnati, Ohio, my backyard

Shot this with my Sony Alpha A6100 + Kamlan 28mm f/1.4. Edited in Lightroom on my iPad and then put through an app called RNI Aero, sorry for the cringe little time stamp thing lol I didn’t pay for the app (yet). I just recently started doing landscapes, it’s been a year since I got my first mirrorl

My Paris trip in July

If I had to start over with a limited budget I'd probably get a Sony alpha 6100, or if budget allows, the 6400. Both have interchangeable lens and will last you a long time. They also come with decent lens included, great for beginners to learn! But honestly, Nikon, Sony, Canon all have some great b
