2.5% Waxing Crescent

Well, a lot of patience. The sliver didn't appear till well after sunset. I was about to give up. Used a skyview app to see where it should be. Kept panning. Found it. Variety of exposures. Mostly clear skies. The timing of location in the sky and sunset colors and moon phase lined up. Oh yeah, a so

Best set up for an amateur bird photographer that won't completely break the bank?

I had the Sony a6700 and 200-600 before getting my A1ii. It’s an amazing setup for bird photography. Super fast autofocus, great reach and image quality with the 200-600. Only downside is no pre-capture. You won’t notice any difference between APSC and full frame as an amateur. I’ve even shot the a6

Is Nikon Z the best camera series or am I missing something?

*The RF mount is crazy limited, * There's multiple other areas canon is also "ahead" and others they are behind. Just like every other company. Canon arguably has the best first party "amateur to enthiusts" level of camera bodies and lenses. They really fleshes out both the entry level bodies to many

Bird photography while hiking

If you have unlimited budget I would consider OM1mk2 with the 50-200 f/2.8 and a 2x teleconverter instead of the 100-400. The TC makes it a 100-400 f/5.6, which is a 200-800mm full frame field of view. This lens is very sharp for pixel peeping. I have full frame Sony setup (A1ii, A9iii, A7RV, A7cii)

The most beautiful season in the Botanic Gardens

I’ve been shooting Fuji for many years. I just love the experience with the physical dials, the film simulations, and the colours I can get straight from the camera. But the autofocus never kept up with moving subjects, so it started becoming an issue when my interested shifted towards birds and wil

Why trade the x2d2 for an a1ii ? I have an a1ii and looking to get an x2d2 in the near future, but probably alongside my sony

Looking for phone with better camera quality

sony xperia 1 vii, then spend the remaining on a sony a1 ii and a few lenses, personal recommendations are 28-70mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8, and 100-400mm GM. u'll probably have some money left afterwards, spend that on a prime lens or maybe a second body, probably something like the a7c ii or a7c r when
