I’ve been shooting for magazines and corporate for 15 years. The Z8 and Z9 are the best cameras I’ve ever used, even beating out my Sony A9ii and A1 (for my shooting style). I’m glad Nikon is on the old flagship recule schedule and not releasing new bodies every two years. The firmware updates are p

The a9ii is an old body (2019). Not much of an upgrade over the original a9. The R6mii is newer by about 3 years and a much stronger all arounder with newer AI subject tracking. The R6mii is 40 fps vs 20 fps on the a9ii (15 fps if using a Sigma lens). So if you want fps, a Sigma lens on a Sony body

I moved to a Zf to shoot for personal trips alongside my work A9ii’s. Once I saw how snappy that camera was in comparison (and the price difference) I jumped ship and sold my Sony gear. I’ve been working with the Z9’s for an over a year and absolutely love them.

70-200 with 1.4x is great. 400/4.5 on second body is nice too. I have Z8 back button focus button programmed to switch FX/DX modes for composition cropping if you need more reach. No lag doing that with bursts (unlike my Sony A9ii)

You actually prevented me from upgrading to Sony, thanks! I got the R8 and never noticed rolling shutter issues even though I exclusively shot in electronic shutter mode. I liked the lens choice/price but the Sony bodies are really expensive and got low frame rates unless of course i pay 5x for A9ii

That’s the camera I was going to buy lol.. I just wasn’t impressed at all by it. I tested the A9ii and the A7RV from Sony

I’ve just spent 2 years with a full Sony setup, A1, a9II and all G-MASTER glass. I’m going back to my D750 and D810. For me the whole mirrorless system felt artificial.

The a9iii seems like it comes from the future and I played with the idea of moving to Sony for a night. I landed on the a9iii as the only entry point (and then selling all the canon gear) because I didn’t think the a9ii was going to be a big improvement. That seems like a lot of change (and high pri

Another fun example of this , the Sony A99ii has the exact same 42 megapixel sensor as the A7R2. This means the A7, A7ii, A9 and A9ii all have a worse sensor than the last Sony DSLR.
