HELP! 1080p Footage looks blurry and washed out. What do I need to improve next time? Is the high ISO the reason?

lessons learned: Shoot 4K even if your final video will be 1080p. Downscaled video looks a lot sharper and also denoised. 1080 footage looks horrible on those cameras. You should have tried it. Also bitrate is not enough to handle wide shots as far as I remember. (but I'm not sure if a7iii shoots 50

Z5ii vs Sony A7iii

They all use the same sensor (Sony IMX410). Most 24MP full frame mirrorless cameras (other than Canons, the original Z5, and the latest models) use this same sensor. So the A7iii, Z6, Z6ii, ZF, Panasonic S5, etc. The A7iii is roughly equivalent to the original Z6. And you’ll note that the used Z6 pr

Asked Director for LUT, Offered to sell me his LUT package

Yea, the jump from the a7III to the a7SIII and newer Sony FF mirrorless is a big one. Not just 10-bit color but also general color science and image rendering. The a7SIII sensor is what's in the FX6, though I know a lot of pros would rather use interframe codecs for everything, so XAVC S is definite

Deciding between A7V and FX3

It really depends on what kind of videos you're planning to shoot. If you're going to record anything longer than 30 mins you're probably better off with a FX3. The issue with all hybrid cameras is that they don't have the thermal capabilities to do what you need it to do. If you're filming in warm

I need to record video from my a7iii to my Macbook. I need a capture card that's compatible with apple silicon.

Yeah, you’re gonna need a dummy batt. But none of this matters because your A7III is going to overheat and shutdown anyways…

How to get 24fps slow motion to look smoother

Upgrade one camera. Do you really need all three to shoot slow motion? I don’t think you’re gonna find a “workaround” for getting 60fps to look good on the a7iii, its 1080p modes look pretty bad. Moving from an a7iii to an a7siii was an absolute night and day upgrade for me.

Workflow question for when you don't have access to a desktop

The A7iii only records 8 bit internally. I'm not a fan of shooting log on that camera.

A6000 for Video

A6k uses the wrong method to record video. Instead of oversampling, which is what nearly every other hybrid camera's doing, it skips lines. That means that it doesn't use the whole sensor for it. Consequently the quality isn't better than from a phone. There are issues with noise, aliasing, moire an

New commercial work shot on Nikon ZR

The reason I’m sharing this is because I’ve been reading mix reviews of the ZR online and wanted to share my experience working with the camera. Plus I’d love to know what everyone thinks of the shots I got with the ZR. As background, I’ve upgraded from the Sony A7III so it’s been a major upgrade fo
