Should I explain to the client why the photos look bad?
That's the same age as the Sony A7III, and nobody would look twice at a professional using that. Only roughly a stop difference between the two. I've been paid to shoot with an X-T3. With f/2.8 zooms or f/1.4 primes, it can absolutely hang with professional cameras in many use cases. An f/3.5-6.3 su

First week with my new (to me) X100vi
I hear you about the stress. had bought a Sony a7iii a few years ago because I felt I deserved an upgrade, and hoped it would get me back into photography. It didn’t, lol. It lasted a few months and then collected dust and I was again uninspired. Spending so much on lenses and other peripherals, arg

Debating the 24–120 vs. Adapting My Sony Lenses on the Zf
Adapted lenses are okay but not mind blowing. I’d say a7iii type of experience at best. And you can have a pretty good lens for the price of megadap Honestly, sounds like your current Sony body is too cheap for your expectations… se40 isn’t worth a bend over backwards, 40/2.5 is better

Sigma 17-40 f/1.8 for Canon R7?
Agree with your post and your conclusions, even though a Sony a7iii is older than the R7 (worse AF, slower, no 4k60) but still more expensive. At the end of the day you get similar performance for similar prices; but then you might want to add faster primes, wider angles -> FF; or rather tele, macro

Sigma 17-40 f/1.8 for Canon R7?
Yeah the a7iii isn't the ideal Sony budget camera, but the 28-75 G2 is cheaper on Sony right now, and it's better to have two options than one. I think the biggest point is, if you think you might want the 17-40, it's worth taking a break and making sure you're making the best choice, because it is

Full Frame vs Crop sensors is mostly just vibes these days
Absolutely no one in this thread asserted that you mentioned “overpriced”, although that $1800 Sony A7iii specimen is indeed overpriced several years running, for its very limited, 20th-Century colorspace paradigm. Those who perform color grading and/or greenscreen compositing chores know the deal.

Is this a good deal ?
Not really. Its an a7ii, lacks basically all the good features Sony is famous for. The a7iii should be in your price range but then you need a lens... maybe look for an a6400 or a6600.

Meh! Everything might be considered good to some, but objectively there are some bad apples out there. Example: Sony has been ripping people off for years now, with their $1700-$1900USD A7iii blatantly sporting a mere 8-bit color video recording scheme. Shame On You Sony®️. WhyILeftSonyForLumix®️👀

Switch to Sony or stay with Canon?
You can use the same lenses except 18-35, this one is aps-c. Official canon adapters give no performance loss, actually lenses will get second breath with better signal coming to them. This way, you can even get R6 mk3 for this budget and a 24-70. Sony is overhyped piece of shit tbh. People using th
