Comprehensive Response to Bambu's AGPLv3 Violations from SFC

I bet the folks over at Prusa are absolutely swearing right now, because there is a deeply cynical layer to this whole situation. There isn't a single fiber in my body that believes Bambu Lab is in the right here, or that they aren't blatantly violating the license. But the fact that a $15k bounty h

Thinking about leaving Bambu Lab for Snapmaker U1

The only problems I had with p1s were AMS related and toolhead related. Not sad to not be using AMS all time now I have A U1. But auto loading is great, U1 can't do that. The tool head related issues I would say I have had about 4 times the amount of on U1, but it has 4 toolheads, so... For me at le

2026 is the year of the toolchanger. Will Bambu compete with this performance?

I own 4 BLs (P1S, A1 mini, A1, H2D) and a Snapmaker U1. Edit: and I've owned and built others since 2012 or so. The BL software is better but it's not substantially better (computer-side). The mobile app is a lot better, but the Snapmaker mobile app is fine. Just not as many features. BL is the winn

First 3d Printer Snapmaker U1 or P2S

You're asking in a Snapmaker subreddit, so you'll get Snapmaker recommendations. Many people will tell you the opposite in the BL subreddit. But: I'm one of many who own a U1 and also own BL printers (P1S, A1 mini, A1, H2D). I don't own the P2S but I think I can speak with a fair bit of relevant exp

3D Printer Buyers Nightmare

you didnt mentioned it but the snapmaker u1 does everything better than the printers of your list. the only thing is not completely enclosed, but there are already a lot of cheap DIY solutions and an official one on the arrival.moreover uses klipper and already has a lot of mod from the community, l

OrcaSlicer developer Josef Prusa says Bambu Lab allegedly violates AGPL license with an un-auditable network "black box" — warns Chinese 3D printing software poses massive security risks

Or just buy a printer with open firmware. For example, Snapmaker U1 runs pretty standard klipper/moonraker/fluidd.

Bambu only Priced the X2D at $899 because of the Snapmaker U1

Print quality is fine with the U1. I liked my U1 so much I bought a second one after 3 weeks, something I did when I first got an X1C (I have 2 X1C and a P1S). Where Snapmaker is lagging is in software, and they just released another update today. Considering it’s a 5 month old product, we can’t rea

I've converted. Need paxx guidance.

I used stock firmware for quite a while before switching to extended. I did it mostly for mods. I would say that for me, understanding my U1 before modding it gave me a lot of piece of mind knowing what to expect and what was abnormal. It's not necessary, especially if you're not of the same mindset

Anyone think that Bambu has made the same errors Prusa did?

Nah, it may look that way, but the Prusa XL is still far from being a truly reliable experience, and as for the U1 — time will tell. The main advantage of Bambu is the ease of use within its ecosystem. Based on past experience with Snapmaker’s software and their so-called “tuned” profiles, I really

Curious about Snapmaker U1

Haven't tried changing spools mid print. Not having purge is great, multicolor is 50-70% faster and cheaper. To this regard, machine is great. I have both Bambu and the U1. U1 build quality is good. Not super great, but very good. Prints quality: they are very good, but not super great. Where you se
