Abysmal Dynamic Range

I think this is because nobody really knows how to use the RAW workflow. Some do, many don't. Many don't spend enough time to understand the way a camera's dynamic range is even used. The Sigma fp when processed well seems to have more than enough dynamic range. Again, if you know how to expose the

People who sold their Sigma Fp, do you miss It? If you bought it again, why?

I loved my fp-l in every way except AF. Switched to a S9 which has great AF. I miss the absolute minimalism of the sigma. If I had unlimited funds I’d keep one for landscape work but if I added a second camera it’s probably be the s1rii for its middle resolution but also a shutter and EVF.

Upgrade from EOS M?

The Sigma FP has internal RAW recording since many updates ago, you just need high-speed SD cards (I'm actually shooting 12-bit internal RAW with some v60 cards and it works fine). Coming from a Magic Lantern 5D MKII, it feels like a nice upgrade to me. No more fighting with Magic Lantern randomly r

fp or fp L?

I have the FP L. I got it because my research suggested it was the better of the two for photography (vs video). I have adapted voigtlander glass (m mount to L mount) and I also picked up two sigma lenses (24 and 45). I like it as a contrast to Fuji (my other main system) for colours and the ability

How is digital zoom?

I've been in your position, but in my case, using a Panasonic 70-300mm. And in my experience, zooming in 2x is reliable and doable, with a very important caveat. The lens should have built in Optical Stabilisation. I've tried it with non OS lenses and it's a sorry mess. The camera has only got an el

The Lumix S1rii, my experience after 2 months

I've been really struggling with the decision of what newer camera to buy. I had a bad experience with Sony and Nikon Z, because I am so spoiled by the colors and contrast of my CCD DSLR collection — especially the Pentax 645D — and my Sigma fp. Ergonomics are important (hate menus), and I need real

TTArtisan 40mm f2 vs SG-Image 35mm f2.2 on Lumix S9: which compact budget AF lens makes more sense now?

Thank you for detalied review! I got the TTArt 40f2 just 10 days ago and loving it so far on my Sigma FP L and Lumix S9, I was thinking to get the SGimg too especially for the FP L and this review helped me to decide, thank you again!

fp or fp L?

I think that's largely correct, however, do note that unlike the SL, the fp and fp L only have an electronic shutter. I've found that the fp L has especially persistent banding artifacts, even when shooting at a shutter speed in sync with power frequency. fp is not as bad. YMMV Also related to the e

What’s a good Director’s Viewfinder I can get myself?

I bought a Sigma FP once because it works as a good viewfinder but it never found its way into my workflow and I just stayed using Artemis. I STILL want a viewfinder because I think it'll focus me a little more and I just hate using my phone but I haven't stumbled on anything sooo....lmk if you find

fp or fp L?

I would suggest getting the FP and see if you're happy with the quality, i have used the FP for sports, motorsports, parties and faster stuf without issues, where the 61mp sensor would have made it too slow. The FP has stellar performance for low light, beating 13MPX full frame sensors whent it come
