Serious question....
Exactly. Never ever answer the door for police. Don’t even speak to them through the door or a window. Get a hard wired (not WiFi) doorbell camera that has an intercom feature. If someone knocks, just use your phone to talk to them via the camera’s speaker and microphone. My personal recommendation

My Ring doorbell is now a local AI-powered automation system
If you’re looking for a low cost, high quality, fully local, cloud free device, the Reolink PoE doorbell is fantastic.

Home POE doorbell recommendations
Skip Aqara, that's not even an actual real security camera system, that's a toy (an useless one). Hikvision and Dahua aren't available in your country because your country most likely banned them from federal use for human rights and USA vs China reasons. They are controversial brands, and IMO not f

Recommendation on updating cctv ..
Reolink NVR kit is great for the money. The cameras that come with it are good enough so depending where you want to put them may be fine with just the kit but may want to add a duo for a large space of you don't want to mount 2 cameras and run two cables, or have a specific area you want higher res

Ring doorbell alternatives without monthly fee?
I have a Reolink PoE doorbell and it's a massive upgrade over the blink it replaced. Just a single cable through the wall for power and data, it's constantly powered so no batteries to replace and being hardwired to the network (not WiFi) there is very little delay. I have a micro SD card in the doo

Complete Guide to Teardown HomeBase 3 (S380) and Install Termination Loads For WiFi Antennas to Solve Connection Issues
I am in process of this exact move. I have 7 Eufy cameras left. I went with a reolink nvr and one of the poe super wide floodlights and I love it. Poe Doorbell is waiting to be installed (waiting on a day off from work while kids are still in daycare is still open) so I can ditch Ring (which for the

Best Smart Home Brand across products?
A lot has to do with matching needs. I really like my Eufy floodlight cameras and my reolink POE doorbell, as they do what I need without subscriptions, though they are not my primary security, for which I would just consider them a useful addition, but also mediocre.

Doorbell Lite vs original G4
thier doorbells are wearing out already? glad i got a cheap reolink when my poe ring elite died but if doorbells are gonna keep dropping maybe it's time to crowd fund an open source poe doorbell.

Advice on HiLook over Hikvision?!
If you want hikvision then buy hikvision, not hilook. Hilook is a watered down version of what Hikvision is. I personally would never buy that crap. But you must know what Hikvision cameras to get of course... Can't get anything, there's cameras and cameras. You want the high end ones. Now, as far a

Advice on HiLook over Hikvision?!
If you are getting the cheap Hikvision stuff, and you live in a first world country where Reolink is widely available, then yes. Absolutely. Reolink is better at that price point, because of professional models and CX models. Hikvision UI/UX can be a nightmare if you are not familiar with cameras al
