Ubiquiti vs Reolink

Ubiquiti 100% - I had Reolink, and I kept their Doorbell and a couple of internal E1 Pro cameras. I recently changed the entire system to UniFi; that is network, the NVR Instant, along with their G6 series cameras. I am not looking back.

My honest review about Tapo camera

C230 is low end cheap camera and you are saying it's the best they have the C250 and C260 which are the new recent models and you are comparing to reolink models that cost 200+, even the E1 pro costs 50 are you using the app on other phones with the same account? I never had that kind of problem onl

Reolink or Dahua

I bought wireless Reolink cameras (E1 Zoom, TrackFlex), as it'd be cost prohibitive to drag PoE. It's a bloody mess with Frigate. There are all sorts of encoding issues and I'm having to do software re-encoding for it to work. Also, the Frigate-based autotrack doesn't work. The cameras themselves ar

The Good ‘ol Daus

I got a "REOLINK E1 Pro" with some Amazon coupon, they're always on sale. But I don't think it is anything special, it is just cheap, and has RTSP/ONVIF and PTZ. There are many alternatives from other manufacturers. I did have to use their app for initial setup, enable RTSP/ONVIF, and then restart t

Suggestions For PoE Cameras And NVR For An Apartment On A Budget

Amcrest and Reolink have a couple of WiFi+Ethernet cameras that sit on tables, like E1 Pro ( this one is not PoE, has a power cord and a separate Ethernet cord) How would the E1Pro be any different than what I already have? Where would be the gain in security if it’s not PoE? The "Po" in "PoE" isn't

Recommendations for self hosted home security/ IP cameras

ipcamtalk dot com, all the info you need is there. Even ways to aquire cameras for decent price.I personally use frigate hosted on my proxmox server that is running on old pc, have 8 dahua cameras connected. I would avoid reolink though, I have a E1 Pro model, that support RSTP, but doesn't allow ma

Product Recommendation (NVR and Associated Cameras)

The home hub is compatible with battery powered cameras (aka wireless/solar), you wnt to have the home hub pro and not the normal one, because storage, etc and it acts more like the NVR. I'd also go with home hub pro because you are renting so you might eventually run out of places you can plug in (

Frigate + go2rtc on Dual Intel GPUs (Arc B580 + UHD 770): Can’t Get iGPU Transcoding Working with Reolink H.265 (B580 does object detection(

Reolink and Frigate have been nightmares for me. The Reolink cameras seem to have broken frame sequencing, so I have to transcode my streams. I have them working, but only through a lot of grief (and my E1 Zooms only operate at 1440p). My NVR is running on a GMKtec M3 Ultra (Intel Core i7-12700H wit

Reolink cameras load slow when connected to Scrypted

Not using scrypted but another software NVR. I have a reolink e1 pro indoor. What I've noticed is that the CPU on the e1 goes to over 90% utilization which of course slows down the responsiveness of the camera. What I've done is use only a single stream (the sub low stream) for the NVR and also turn

Looking for an indoor PTZ camera that doesn't need apps or cloud

Does anyone know if the Reolink E1 Pro is entirely configurable direct from a self-hosted administration page According to Reolink, the E1 pro is not accessible via web browser. Additionally, configuring the camera requires that you download and launch the Reolink App or Client software; this is tru
