Poor Man’s Dual Boiler
I always wonder why more people don't do that.Even if you'd buy two brand new Rancilio Silvia and use one exclusively for steam and the other one for Espresso it would be still cheaper than a wide range of dual boiler... The only downside is shelf real estate and having to explain this brilliant ide

Ultimate cheap setup!
I'm also a former barista and had the same setup until really recently. It's a decent combination. I'd recommend upgrading the steam wand to a rancilio Silvia wand. The wand costs about $20 online and takes about an hour to replace. There's videos online detailing how to do it.

Identification and frother
I think that’s the same as my Gaggia, 2013. You may be able to fit the Rancilio Silvia steam want onto this machine. Big upgrade.

[$1000] machine recs at or under $1k (ideally $750 or under if possible) with the best/quickest milk steam wand? willing to go used also
A better machine is going to have a boiler instead of the thermocoil in your Bambino. The good news is it will have much more steam power, and will steam faster than your Bambino. The bad news is that you will have to wait about a minute for the boiler to heat up from brew to steam temperature befor

Opinions on upgrades
I’ll answer some! Yes, gaggiuino/gaggimate has PID and pre infusion. I think pre-infusion is only in Gaggimate Pro. (I’ll just talk about gagimate, go that route since its more user friendly from what i read here, even the community is more friendly) I know it works on all types of GCP since 1991. Y

Looking to upgrade my espresso machine! [1000]
Honestly there is no massive upgrade for the GCP under $1000, it's a very capable machine. Are you interested in a lever? That would at least give you a different experience. Are you a tinkerer? You could mod your GCP and turn it into a $3k+ flow profiling beast. Other than that, you're probably tal

Recommendations for a beginner machine [£500-600]
The Turin Legato V2 (which has PID) is marketed under multiple names--thus you may find it under a differing name in Europe. I posted the typologies (a few) under my original reply. for the $ and home use--wow (PID, pressure control and accessible flow control if wanted). That said it's not a tank l

Pulling the trigger on Lelit Bianca V3 — am I missing anything? [$2000-3500]
I was THIS close to pulling the trigger on a bianca. Had it in my cart on 3 different websites. Had all my assorted attachments picked out. Shopping list put together. Then a friend let me borrow his La Pavoni single boiler, and said to keep it for the week to decide if I really need a dual boiler o

Budget is not a problem, but I can’t find an option better than Bambino, why?
Steam quality is vastly better than the stock Gaggia Classic. Very comparable to the steaming on a Bambino (using a Rancilio Silvia wand on the Gaggia).

2006 Silvia still pulling great shots!
When deciding which to get, I had been working part-time at a coffee shop during college that had a Rancilio machine and it just felt right for me. The portafilters between the two machines were basically interchangeable. That being said, she is a lady who must be treated right by someone who unders
