Ti screen screw
Ah, naturally, coffee only reaches its most nuanced, existential depths when brewed on a Rancilio Silvia with the reassuring presence of a titanium screen screw. Without it, you're not crafting espresso, you're just playing at it. /s

Upgraded to an "endgame" set up...and I hate it.

Does the Robot actually make better coffee?
2 years ago, I had a Rancilio Silvia PID mods and I bought the Robot to play the weekend with pressure/flow profiling. Right at the start my shots were better and always drinkable compared to the Silvia. I sold the Silvia fews week after because she was no more attractive. Lever are more forgiving,

Upgrade recommendations from Breville Oracle Touch [$2000]
thats very important what you said. light roasts can be super hard to pull off. Or I just suck. But i could never pull a good shot of tim wendelboe coffee with a rancilio silvia and rancilio rocky grinder. It was just so astringent and bitter and sour (bad sour) at the same time. So i drank medium a

Ya I get it. I used to have a rancilio Silvia. Sold it back when secondary market was p cheap for espresso bc I got an e61 la scala butterfly bc I wanted to get into more steamed drinks. Gaggia Classic E24 v Lelit Anna [$1500 AUD setup]
Hi there,So your budget is like €911? (Just so I have a reference 😁).You have so many good options… insane. So, do you really need the machine new? I would only buy the grinder new 😁About those grinders you mentioned, I can't say much, but I have the Eureka Mignon Zero 55s and I love it. (Some offers

Best coffee beans in Melbourne/online Australia?
We recently hired a Barista for an expo and he was pulling delicous shots with a small commercial one group machine and the Lazzio beans (Mazzer grinder). Totally blown away as had tried those beans at home with a Rocky (old burrs at the time) Rancilio Silvia and had very average shots. Looking now

Advice for first machine [1000€]
Same question I am looking into. Of the two I'd probably take the Quickmill because manual flow control and water reservoir removable to the side. (Needs to fit my kitchen counter under the cupboards.) For Lelit, why Mara X and not Victoria? Another one I am considering is the Rancilio Silvia plus G

Seems like the shot is coming too fast. This is my 10th one ever, and I got this setup used. Tastes good, but I get 3oz from 13g of ground beans in less than 10 seconds.
13 grams and you get 85 grams out and far too fast. Most people's recipes barr 18 gms and about 36 to 40 grams out. You have too little in the basket to create enough resistance and also possibly not ground the beans fine enough Also presure on rancilio Silvia's are set to about 12 bar and you need
