For all that money you can get a 10-80lb Eisenlink set ($500) which is indestructible or catch the regularly occuring sale of nearly indestructible 90lb powerblocks ($500). 50lb Eisenlinks are like $350, and 50lb powerblocks are $250 when on sale. Eisenlink for whatever reason have stock issues. For example if you go to their website everything is sold out. I admit it is a great system but it is still mostly closed. However both Eisenlink and Ironmasters handles are compatible with 1” plates. Also who knows how long Eisenlink will be around.

I would absolutely not drop powerblocks. I use Eisenlinks and you could throw those off a roof and be fine. I wouldn't trust powerblocks to be dropped more than a couple inches.
