Bookshelf Speaker Recs
Recommending second hand products is extremely difficult. It depends entirely on what you can find locally (wherever you are in the world — as you didn’t tell that). At $200 there are very limited number of small new bookshelf speakers. Usually if you wanted a good entry level bookshelf speaker, the

Turntable Guides
Pass on basic bare minimum 4" Edifier R1280 that are often paired with the basic bare minimum AT-LP60X if you can't afford good speakers. Size the speakers to the room size. A 20 x 30 room is extra large. For that size room at least 6.5" speakers or floor standing towers with dual 6.5" mid bass driv

Speaker advice - $500 USD Budget - Argentina
I don’t know if there’s really any more “fun” sounding active/powered speakers in your budget. (My recommendations tend to be accurate or neutral sounding products. Maybe you can EQ the sound (on PC) to your liking, if you don’t like neutral.) These are $249 each (i.e. $498 for a pair) on Amazon: Ka

Help required - Gift for my other half
We currently use a yamaha RX-V793 with a ENERGY ESW-8 sub and some small ENERGY speakers for our tv. Can any of this be repurposed? Yes, do this for better sound. You can now or later replace two of the small (2", 2.5" or 3") Energy satellite passive speakers with a pair of better larger 5.25" or 6.

Buying a bookshelf-stereo system
The speakers that come with those kinds of mini-hifi systems are probably always going to be crappy. There’s simply not enough budget to get great components. For somewhat cheap but decent stand-alone passive speakers, look into e.g. these. Maybe you can find some second hand: Polk Audio Monitor XT2

First setup
Would love to hear ideas on how to gradually upgrade it! The good turntable, cartridge and stylus are already higher quality than the speakers so you are set there! If you ever do want to upgrade anything then start with a step up from the entry level 4" speakers for the most improvement in sound qu

New to turntable - advice needed to use wired headphones
Yamaha is for passive speakers. Yamaha plus powered speakers would be redundant. ------ Turntable > Yamaha > headphones and passive speakers. OR Turntable > Phono Preamp + Headphone Amp > headphones and powered speakers. This second option is a good value with the Douk and Magnat Monitors. ------ Pa
