Polar’s new wearable is screen-free, subscription-free and a direct competitor to Whoop

The upcoming polar loop is a screen-free fitness tracker with interchangeable bands starting at 179.90€ from the well-known fitness watch brand Polar 🇫🇮. It competes with Whoop and Amazfit’s existing screen-less tracker the former famously requires an expensive subscription to use (and no more free u

Polar - the future or perhaps just the past?

I’d like to point out that Polar has been struggling for several years now and has actually had to lay off a significant portion of its staff and make various financial cuts (which is why there’s a common system across different watch models). I’m convinced that if Polar continues down this path wit

From pre-order to massive disappointment: firmware updates ruined connectivity

Well, the main matter is that even when it works the way it should it does not offer anything more or better than the competition but usually less and worse. When it comes to Amazfit Helio strap, Google Fitbit Air, Garmin Cirqua or Whoop, you can think of something that would give any of these devic

Polar - the future or perhaps just the past?

As a casual user, I like polar. Software is simple in my eyes, hardware is good and has no monthly subscriptions, which is a big plus. Polar also replaced my ignite 3 after the battery failed under warranty without a fuss. European brand, Finnish to be exact. All in all I think Polar is doing good b

Is the polar band still bad? (Help)

Depends what you're searching for. Polar Loop is better in HR accuracy than Whoop 4.0 and Helio Strap when worn on the bicep. It's a dumpster fire like the others when worn on a small wrist like mine. Sleep tracking is good. Activity tracking works and has a daily goal with three options to choose f

From pre-order to massive disappointment: firmware updates ruined connectivity

Support service levels differs a lot from around the world. I sent Swedish polar support a question regarding update problem with the Loop in June on a Tuesday.Got a reply on Wednesday confirming the problem and that a bug fix was on the way soon to be released. An hour later I received a new email f

Polar Loop for sleep & passive tracking : thoughts ?

Hello, I'm using Polar Loop for some time. The only issue I have is that sometimes it counts some activities of my life as a workout. For instance, if I'm on a rush walking at good speed from on point to another, and climb stairs from on floor to the other at the facility, that combined with stress ra

Polar Loop vs. Garmin Cirqa: Polar Needs to Step Up Now

Man I am really surprised by the comments that favor Polar Flow > Garmin Connect or even claim they're equivalent. I moved from an Instinct 2 to the Loop late last year, and having used both apps there is no competition, Polar Flow is horrible in comparison and has been a constant disappointment. I'

Doubt whether to buy

That’s exactly how I use my Polar Loop. I wear my V3 for training sessions, and when I get home I synch it, turn it off (saves battery life), and put on my Loop for the rest of the day. Since the latest firmware updates I have found the Loop’s heart rate tracking and sleep tracking to be flawless. A

Loop megathread

In the week that I have had a Polar Loop 2 I have found the OHR to be virtually identical to that from a Garmin Edge 500 during bicycle rides. I think the image shows that fairly well. The only differences come when I stop - the Loop keeps recording, the Garmin pauses.
