Verse Lite is just a worse Verse, just forget about it (smaller battery, no buttons, no SD card slot, no warm colour temperature, also not waterproof - as the standard Verse isn't). Portablility: all devices in discussion are 6" devices, there's no difference in portability (Kobo Clara BW is slightl

If you like it in general (as a reader), then before you spend money on something else .. have you tried other methods of getting books on the Kindle? Amazon deleting sideloaded books (I think it’s specifically AZW3 format books that have the “EBOK” flag) is a known bug (probably a feature really si

On one hand it looks, just from the technical data (so not the design) like a beefed up Verse Lite, same screen, but it can in contrast to the Verse Lite change colour temperature, it has a way bigger battery (1750mAh vs. 1000mAh) & storage (16GB vs. 8 GB). But that it only supports epub is a very s

PocketBooks are fairly notorious for being slower in most things (other than page-turning, meaning it’s perfectly fine for many people) compared to other dedicated devices, and Verse Lite (which isn’t Android, to be clear, so no Moon Reader possible anyway!) is their cheapest / most “budget” device.

I don't know how "blue" the light on the Basic Lux is, but I guess not that blue since you can't change colour temperature (just a guess). The standard Verse can adjust colour temperature, and since you can keep an ereader for years, whatever you pay more will in the long run be not even that much.

Maybe the Basic Lux 4 from PocketBook, if you can find it. It's the predecessor of the PocketBook Verse, the only differences are afaik different buttons and a Micro USB port instead of USB-C. There's also the PocketBook Verse Lite (which I wouldn't recommend because of lower battery capacity, no po

The question colour or not can only be answered by yourself, and you already did it. If you are willing to accept the disadvantages, try it out. Even if you find people who agree that it's worth switching to colour, you could be disappointed, and even when I tell you I would never buy a colour devic

At least regarding pure ereaders it's fine. Outliners are for sure there, like the mentioned Sage & also the Forma (which both are big and I guess relatively thin), and PocketBook released a budget version of the Verse aka Verse Lite, but it's battery is only smaller to save money, they could put ha

Like I said, "start around" and also depends where you live. PocketBook recently released a budget version of the PocketBook Verse called PocketBook Verse Lite. It strips buttons & SD card slot, has smaller battery than the standard Verse and also doesn't have warm light. It usually is around 100€ w
