If you are looking for an eReader this Christmas, there is one from Europe - Pocketbook/Vivlio
I bought a PocketBook InkPad Color 3 a year ago and wanted to love it but it's a frustrating device. It is so insanely slow. Navigating menus to do anything other than turn pages in a book made me mad. Especially frustrating because other manufacturers manage to make their eReaders snappy. I switche

Pocketbook doesn't need KOReader
I have the opposite experience. I have a Kobo Libra 2 and a Pocketbook Inkpad Colour 3. I never understood the Koreader hype when I only had the Kobo. Pocketbook for me is unusable with its stock UI. I was actually going to sell it before putting Koreader on it. Bizarrely it’s super sluggish if you

Recommendation for a first ereader.
Good PDF support, colour for comics and good experience = large and expensive. Can’t really get around that. Something in the 7’’ would be a compromise that does PDFs and comics within that budget (Kobo Libra Colour, Boox Go 7 Colour Gen II), but “good experience” would be very, very subjective. I w

Moving from 623 to Inkpad Color or Verse color?
The question colour or not can only be answered by yourself, and you already did it. If you are willing to accept the disadvantages, try it out. Even if you find people who agree that it's worth switching to colour, you could be disappointed, and even when I tell you I would never buy a colour devic

Kobo vs Boox vs Pocketbook
I'm really enjoying the Kobo Libra Colour. I had a Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition, traded that in with Amazon to get the Kindle Scribe and found I never used it and it was just too big for ereading. I really wanted a color e-ink to start reading some children's books with my kid and decided I n

Got a B751C S to replace my Kobo : pretty disapointed
PocketBook are the worst ereaders for manga. no right to left mode no double page spreads management zoom is so slow you cannot use it I had the Inkpad Colour 3 and it was just bad for this use. And they don't even allow you to make notes with a stylus. The KLC is already 32Go which is nice and more

I absolutely love the integration of Koreader with Pocketbook.
I have both a Kobo Libra Colour and a PocketBook Inkpad Color and without Koreader, I feel the PocketBook would almost be unusable. The native UI is so so slow. Thankfully, koreader makes it usable.

How long does your battery last on the Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3?
My InkPad 4 - which has a smaller battery than the InkPad 3 colour - definitely lasts weeks (but also doesn't need light in daytime, since the screen is brighter). At this point I have the suspicion that some PocketBooks have in some cases a problem with the software regarding how full a battery is

Seeking Recommendations for the Perfect E-Reader for Manga and download
First: there exists no perfect ereader for reading manga, or for reading at all. A black and white one will have no colours, a colour one will be worse for black and white content. And is limited to 4096 colours, compared to millions on a cheap android tablet. An Android one will enable you to insta

Black & White vs Color Screens
There are some real differences, but it really comes down to preference. Color PocketBooks (like the InkPad Color 3) use E Ink Kaleido tech, which layers a color filter on top of the screen. That means that the color mode will have lower resolution and be more muted, rather than bright like an OLED
