Is there any sense to buy a new reader?
Do not get Pocketbook Era. It's too slow. I almost stopped reading e-books just because of it being way too annoying. Kindle 12 PW, on the other hand, has one of the fastest screen with an animation feature as well. It is a 7/10 experience on a stock firmware, and 10/10 experience on a jаilbroken on

Ereaders with grip handle help!
i feel you on wanting that grip handle - makes such a difference for long reading sessions. the kobo libra 2 is probably your safest bet because the build quality is solid and the page turn buttons are actually comfortable. pocketbook era has a similar shape but the software feels slower in my exper

Inkpad 4 - not happy
Woe be upon anyone who wants to change settings or view their library once their PocketBook has decided to turn to shit. Are you a big sideloader? I've noticed that my metadata is full of invalid/nonsense characters. I suspect it's part of why my Era Color decides to shit itself now and then.

Downgrading to 6.8.x fixed the multitouch gesture related issues. u/tmfsd did you report the multitouch gesture issues to the PocketBook support? Bec

Kindle pw 12th is superfast, vs KLC
I also thought that it's not that important, so then I got a Pocketbook Era, and it was literally annoying. The page turns were very slow. I really preferred an iPad from 2013 because it gave me less frustration. I stopped reading electronic books just because of the annoyance of the screen - it con

What would make you upgrade your PocketBook?
Even if PocketBook releases a new Era model, it'll likely only be about half as capable as devices from Kobo or Onyx Boox. Their policy seems to be cutting corners on hardware--like using CPUs that are several years behind the curve--to keep production costs low, while still pricing them at standard

Kobo v kindle
Home page is important if I just want to see my currently reading books, and that's better viewed in kobo. The UI on kobo is just better. Kindle might have a better hardware but kobo is not bad and if you put it in a case it will be good and last a long time. Pocketbooks are much more expensive than
