What is your top travel backpack?
I’ve used cheaper clamshell bags like these Matein-style ones for flights and city travel and I'm happy with them so far. They're lightweight and open flat, also easily fit carry-on limits. I’ve sworn off expensive ones like Farpoint ever since one of my expensive ones went missing at the airport a

Does this bag even exist??
I really like the Patagonia Mini MLC. While not expandable, I just pack light and leave space for souvenirs on the way back. It is relatively rigid, so it doesn't become oddly shaped with a light load.

Underseat vs Overhead
When airlines had humanely sized seats, I used to be able to fit my 40-42L MEI Voyageur under the seat in front of me. I just took my new, 30L Patagonia Mlc mini black hole bag on its maiden voyage: personal item only 2 week trip on Volaris. I was concerned about whether it would fit. The consequenc

I have the Patagonia MLC Mini 30L and it is an awesome back BUT....if you are not traveling with a laptop you may want to pass. IMO one reason it shines is the separate laptop compartment that zips fully open - but that space is much less useable if you don't have tech.

Six Moon Designs ADC+ vs Mini MLC vs Black Hole 32L — Fit Differences on a Small Frame (5'3" Female)
This is my first time posting here, and I hope I’m following all the rules correctly. This post is a personal comparison of the Six Moon Designs ADC+, Patagonia Mini MLC, and Patagonia Black Hole Pack 32L for one-bag travel. I normally travel for about a month at a time and pack around 22 lb includi

Are Brand Name Backpacks Worth It?
I tend to buy brands I know and trust. My hiking pack is an Osprey and I love it and it wears like iron. So it was a no brainer to go with them for my smaller travel bag (26+6.) I also have an original, first run, twenty something year old Patagonia MLC as my bigger one bag option (45.) it’s my ride

Black hole duffle as personal item while flying
That’s a huge bag for under the seat. I also can’t believe you get away with that. I use an Osprey Daylite 26 + 6 pack and that’s just about the max for some airlines. I think the Black Hole Mini MLC is the closest Patagonia option.

What is your 1.5-bag setup?
My main go-to setup is a Patagonia MLC mini and Tom Bihn co-pilot. Believe the co-pilot is 10L.The co-pilot is my personal item and around town bag with an HLT2 inside with the main edc essentials that can be taken out and used on its own like a purse if I feel like the co-pilot is too big for the d

First one bag trip report + changes for upcoming trip
Overall, I loved one bagging it. Not rolling a bag through European streets or carrying a ridiculously large duffle bag like I have in the past was such a nice change, especially because I spent a lot of time exploring the city after I checked out of each place I was staying, so everything had to co
