Why is the G9ii more expensive than the S5ii?

S5ii is Panasonics entry level full frame camera made using quite an older sensor that. The g9ii is a more niche product but also a higher end model, just that its a m4/3 which some will see as a crippled camera. I personally would take gh7 over a s5ii anyday of the week

Over-processed image of the S5iix / S1ii ?

By all accounts you can get a more organic image by shooting Pro-Res and Raw formats, but these come with huge file sizes. H264 and H265 file sizes are so much more reasonable for so many workflows - and I have also noticed the difference going from an S1 / S1H to an S5II. Up-voting this because its

Problems with the S1II

I have most Panasonic cameras but also the A7CII and the Z6III. I agree with you about the video processing in H265/H264/Prores. Since the S5II the video engine is pretty bad. The A7CII is just much better. What you said about the people skin is true, when cropping inside the videos, it has smoothed

Problems with the S1II

If compared to cameras like the A74, Panasonic looks overly processed since the S5II. You can shoot in 6K to avoid most of the oversharpening, the the chroma filtering will still be there

I've been researching cameras & lenses for weeks and have narrowed my final choice down to Olympus or Sony, but I can't decide between them. What should I do?

Think of you ever needing to have zooms. If so, MFT has a huge advantage in weight and price here, especially if we are talking about constant aperture. This advantage is not that obvious with short zooms, but quickly gets serious on 100+ mm. I was circling around the same question as you for months

Overthinking: G9ii vs S5ii vs GH7 traveling and indoor shooting at higher frame rates

The S5II kit 20-60 isn't the sharpest wide open. It also isn't the fastest. The difference in DOF between Full frame and MFT is 2 stops of aperture. A Panasonic 10-25 F1.7 would actually give you a shallower depth of field and more light than the 20-60. But that is a big expensive lens, and the GH7

Can anyone provide Lumix S1II H.265 & Prores RAW footage?

It's not only a problem of oversharpening, it's mainly a problem of detail filtering and temporal noise reduction. It can be fixed by a firmware update yes, but Panasonic never fixed it on the S5II and S5IIX.

I just realized how OP the S1Rii is.

Yes lot of people who are never used both or are not bothered by detail processing. Of course the S1RII has better video quality of the Z8 with compressed codecs. But about the Z8, I said it has N-raw 8K 60fps, which is better than the S1RII compressed codecs and its cropped raw 5,8K.About the S1HII

Turn off noise-reduction in video for S1 II, S1R II and other models?

The A7CII was already much better than the S1II and S5II with fine details. The new version of the Intelligent Details Processing was introduced with the S5II, there is an interview with the S5II developper on Panasonic website : " Tochio: Many factors make up image quality. The main ones are high r
