Why don’t we have a true pocket-size full-frame digital point-and-shoot?

You forgot the Panasonic S9 with a pancake lenses. The reason is that there’s no market for it. If you want to make it pocketable you need to sacrifice on lens quality and at that point what’s the point of full frame if lens cannot resolve it? The target audience for such cameras are using smartphon

Lumix S 28-200mm vs Sigma 20-200mm ?

The Sigma 20-200 both looks and feels stupid and unnatural on the S9 body specifically. For that reason I’d go with the Lumix 28-200, which feels “right”er. Here’s a pic with the S9 + Sigma 20-200 at full extension so you can see what I mean:

What is Micro Four Thirds missing in 2025?

A real updated OM5 with modern sensor and improved perfomance, the OM5 II should have been ideally the OM10 as the entry level model in the system at £600. Apart from that I can't see much missing honestly. A couple of new pancake options would be nice to go along with small bodies. Panasonic could

OM-5 Mark ii, what does it compare to in the lumix line up?

Yes unfortunately g9ii despite the big size difference. If lumix weren't idiots they would have made a GX9 II based off the S9 or previous GX85 already to compete with OM, fuji and Sony A7C lineup instead they made the S9 with too many drawbacks and no small lenses available when they have arguably

I really want OM Systems to do well..

I've been dying for a another rangefinder style M43 camera. Seems like the Pen-F and the GX9 were the last ones they made and decided to just make more and more m43 video focused cameras. They just let FF and APS-Cs just take that entire class of cameras over. More recently with the Panansonic S9, X

Why do so many people dislike kit lenses?

Depends on which kit lens. Not all kit lenses are created the same. Those plasticky 18-55 APS-C for entry level DSLRs? Ew. Really slow. 18 on APS-C is not wide enough. Immediately useless when you get a fast prime. Aren't worth anything when trying to get rid of them. But Fuji 18-55? Awesome. [email protected]

Paradox of choice

For me it would be a clear choce between the two kits: Fuji. It is weather sealed, has a viewfinder for sunny beach days and is an absolute joy to use. But I do mostly stills. The lumix S9 has also its place, but I don't find the lens/camera combo very appealing for a trip.

Lumix S9 vs Sigma BF as a compact camera for everyday carry and general all purpose photography?

Sony a7c, sigma fp, fpl, bf, and Panasonic s9 are all among the smallest you can find. If that’s too big and heavy for you then you are looking at the wrong sensor size format. S9 already cut down as much as they could to make it compact. And large aperture, autofocus FF lenses aren’t going to be av

Ouch there definitely is some people who dont like m43😅

What are the issues you’re referring to? The panasonic S9, pretty much the ”FF GM1” everyone was waiting for, mostly bombed because there are no equivalents to the P9, O12, P15, O17, P20, P42.5, O45 and the O60m. The lenses are m43 strong point imo.

What Are Thoughts on Top 50 Best Selling Cameras in Japan ? M43 Odd Representation

So, having lived in Japan I can tell you it's much less important to Japanese consumers how 'old' a camera is. The dedicated photographers tend to lean towards reliable technology and have affection for proven bodies, while the mass market leans towards small, cute and easy to use. There's no 'chasi
